**UPDATE** The seller contacted me and sent me a new filter. The new filter seemed to do the trick. It’s day 3 since I replaced the filter with the new one and it has not been cloudy. The first photo was with the first filter I received which made the tank cloudy within the first 12 hours and the second photo is with the new filter which is already 3 days in. I setup my very first aquarium for my turtle as it used to be in a mini tank. Bought this filter and installed but just made my 10gal tank cloudy. Didn’t have this issue with my mini tank. Had read similar reviews of cloudy water caused by the same filter. Will most likely return. ... show more

    • There is a fatal flaw... but nice concept

The fatal flaw in the design is in how you remove the cap to clean the media. The plastic tab snaps far too easily making longevity a serious problem. Mine broke but is hanging on for the moment. What I love about this filter is how compact it is for the gpm it provides. My favorite brand is not available on Amazon and I had hopes this could replace it. What is really nice about the unit is its overall design in how it functions allowing it to serve multiple purposes being small and in the tank. Fix the flaw and it would be a keeper for sure. Until then think of it as a good disposable unit for smaller tanks around 60 gallons. I've run planted tanks for many years. UPDATE: I got in contact with the manufacturer and they were extremely helpful in helping me solve my issue. They sent me new filters and wow, wow , wow! They are not noisy at all and also kept the tank clean and clear for quiet sometime. Highly recommend! Thank you!
