Great quality. Doesn't look thick but gives the bottom of the pool a nice soft feel and hides small imperfections of the pool base (sand pad). I found it very easy to remove the wrinkles from our 16ft pool liner. This was my first experience setting up a pool so I can't say for sure if this pad is what made the liner smoothing so easy but I did read some reviews stating as much when trying to decide which pad to buy. I read up on multiple similar items when deciding which one to buy and I'm glad I went with this one. Why did you pick this product vs others?: Thickness: Good thickness. Feels great under feet. We are installing a pond and one of the items needed was a liner under the rubber lining. This product is quite thick and will be perfect for our needs. It is a thick fabric lining that is about 15 feet across. It can actually be molded into the shape we needed for the pond. It is actually for lining under a pool and is meant to cushion the pool as well as keep weeds at bay. It will actually allow water to drain through it so that there would be no puddles left, if used as a pool liner. In our case, this does exactly what we needed it for and am pleased that we decided to place the order. It arrived in a large box and was quite heavy. Well, being 15 feet across and quite thick, heavy is to be expected. It is very workable for the job we did and under a pool would be simple to install.     • We had a lot of rock in the soil and needed as much padding as possible!
Every little bit helps when setting up an **above-ground pool**, especially in **rocky terrain**! After clearing out the **14' area**, we carefully **checked for sharp stones** before placing this **liner pad**, which has a **thick felt-like texture**. To add extra protection, we also **placed a PE pad over it**, but we still found **sharp stones pushing through both layers**. Before installing the **pool liner**, we **walked barefoot** around the entire area multiple times, removing any **missed debris** that we had skimmed over earlier. If your ground is **more sandy or loamy**, a **single thick liner pad** like this might be sufficient—but in rocky conditions, extra caution is definitely needed. ... show more
