Works great and set-up was a breeze with clear video instructions. Adding to Apple Home meant it automatically got into my family's home key without any additional steps. Fingerprint sensor is very good and accurate that it doesn't allow to register the same finger again for redundancy. Couple of niggles with the lock: 1. No rekey option per Aqara support. Without a straight forward rekey option it's difficult to upgrade other doors with same lock unless you start carrying multiple Aqara keys as a backup. 2. The setup with Apple Home kit using Aqara hub and Aqara app meant I have the lock appear twice on my Apple Home. Looks promising and hope the battery can withstand frigid Northeast winter temperatures.

I recently upgraded to the Aqara Smart Lock U100, and it has been an absolute game-changer for home security and convenience. Installation was a breeze; the instructions were clear, and it fit perfectly into the existing deadbolt slot on my door. The sleek design adds a modern touch to my home's entrance, which I appreciate every day. The fingerprint recognition is impressively quick and has not failed me once, even with frequent use. It's also a huge relief not to worry about forgetting keys or changing locks if a key is lost. The Apple Home Key integration is the standout feature for me - it's like living in the future. Being able to unlock my door with my Apple Watch is incredibly handy when I come home with my hands full. The Aqara Home app was easy to set up, and I can now manage access remotely, which is perfect for when I have guests or need to let someone in while I'm away. I've also set up some automation with other smart home devices, and it's been working flawlessly. Battery life has been solid; I've had it for several months now and haven't needed to change them yet. The lock also alerts me when the batteries are running low, which is a thoughtful feature. My only gripe is that the auto-lock feature is a bit too eager to lock the door, even when I'm just stepping out to grab the mail. However, this is adjustable, and I found a timing that works better for me. Originally I purchased and installed a U-Bolt Pro. The U-Bolt Pro fingerprint reader was terrible, the bluetooth services with my IPhone worked about 20%-30% of the time. I returned it and bought the Aqara U100. Easy to install, integrated into Apple Home easily and the fingerprint reader is excellent for me about 98%+ accuracy. It also installed Apple Key on my IPhone and Apple watch which work perfectly. The Aqara hub is not necessary unless you want to set up automated scenes like for geofencing. My only minor complaint is removing the plastic panel for accessing the battery compartment and the documentation could be better. It is too soon to review the battery life or the tech support (I didn't need any).

EDIT: 8/7/23 - Included Cheapo Batteries died (temperate zone temps, one or two motorized locks a day [unlocked for most of day]) Going to see how long Energizer Max batteries last Most of stuff below is still valid, lock seems fine, it occasionally makes chime noises by itself with no one nearby, so not sure what that is END EDIT I took a chance on this as this seems to be a lower cost homekey compatible Door lock that I wanted to put on back door. I'm comparing it to the Schlage Encode Plus that I have on my front door, Kwikset Homekit Premis and August 2nd Gen which this is replacing to get to a full native homekit door setup. (The August was working within homekit by using homebridge) I watched the initial review videos which is what convinced me as well. I also have other Aqara items and the brand seems to solid and I felt comfortable testing. Initial Impressions are good, the unit is hefty and seems well built, the backplate is a little plasticky compared to schlage and kwikset, but pretty good. You'll need a long shaft philips head driver to attach the back lock to the door plate, that's the only real issue I had with install. They only include QR codes to manual and install video, which was okay, but don't expect detailed paper instructions. Install was fine, trickier for me because I had old 3/4" crossbore/Door Latch hole which I had to enlarge. If you have standard 1" crossbore, you should be fine. The screw on the door jamb side could be longer for security reasons, but the back door its mounted on has a window on it. Aqara pairing was fine, it did have firmware update issue that kept failing, force closing the app and restarting solved the issue. Firmware update happened fine, but took 5ish minutes. Registering fingerprint was easy, its similar to touch ID where it asks you to touch it 7 times. Binding to Homekit app was fine from Aqara App, it even imported the passcode I set on the aqara side to the homekit side. Homekey worked fine. It seems binding to an Aqara hub may improve HomeKit response times. In all, seems like solid cheaper competitor to the Schlage Encode Plus. The fingerprint feature if reliable is nice bonus compared to the encode plus. Time will tell about battery life. I'm tempted to get another to replace the kwikset homekit premis. I'm comfortable rating this 5/5 for now unless I encounter issues or if it eats batteries (it does come with some cheapo batteries which I appreciated).
