I recently installed the Wyze Video Doorbell v2, and I’m extremely satisfied with its performance. Here are my thoughts: Installation and Setup: The installation process was straightforward. I wired it up using the existing doorbell wires, and the included angle bracket allowed me to position it perfectly. No fuss, no hassle. Image Quality: The 2K video quality is impressive. I can clearly see everything I need, including packages left near the door. The wide-angle view ensures I never miss a thing. Night Vision: Wyze has nailed color night vision. It’s almost magical how well it works. Even in low light, the clarity is outstanding. No Subscription Fee: Unlike some other brands, Wyze doesn’t require a monthly subscription for continuous recording. Just pop in your own micro SD card, and you’re good to go. Voice Quality and Latency: The two-way audio works well, although it records only the person at the door, not my responses through the app. That’s a minor gripe. Smart Features: Wyze offers plenty of free nerdy options, and you can unlock more with a subscription. Nothing essential is behind a paywall. Chime Delay: The only drawback is the slight delay when ringing the doorbell. It’s connected wirelessly to the adapter, which then triggers the chime. Not a deal-breaker, but worth considering. Overall, I’d give the Wyze Video Doorbell v2 an A. It’s a fantastic product with a few minor quirks. If you’re looking for an affordable, reliable doorbell camera, this is the one to get! 🚪📸

For price and features, I don’t think this camera can be beat. You can make it all local or join their service for added AI assisted bells and whistles. I love it. The door gets a lot of traffic so even though it’s processing a lot of alerts, battery life is measured in weeks… which is awesome, because I don’t have wired power to the porch except for the porch light. Video quality and night vision are great. It faces east so it gets direct sunlight which some video doorbells struggle with. This still works great and aetup couldn’t be easier. I have only one complaint. It doesn’t really work with Google Home. It shows up there but you can’t do anything with it. I bought it specifically for this feature… but I liked the other functions so much I kept it anyway and just use their app… which is very usable.

I like that the battery is rechargeable and that it comes with a separate chime that can be plugged in a wall outlet in the house. I use Wyze cams and the Wyze scale so it was seamless to connect to my ecosystem - perfectly connected on the first try. I couldn't find a third party door mount so I will have to use the adhesive. This doorbell is heavy so I am worried about it's ability to stay secured on the door - especially when I remove the doorbell to charge. The battery arrived at 25% charge so that is worrisome and an inconvenience. We will see. This was not an inexpensive purchase so I wish i could feel more positive about this. The phone notification says "someone is calling you" instead of saying "someone is at your door" and this might confuse my grandma. The first day with this doorbell is more worrisome and stressful than I would have liked.

Good price considering all it does. You can customize the door bell sound and volume. Can play back recordings up to 24hrs without an SD card. I like that you can talk to people through it if needed. Decently clear definition and I like the night vision. Battery life is very good. You can check the battery life on the app. I have 2 other Wyze cameras in my home all connected together, so you have to pay an annual fee but it's not terribly expensive and worth it when you live alone like me in an apartment complex. Easy for me to check on my pet when I'm away from home as well.

EDIT 10/3/25 After having this thing for around 9 months, I'm retracting my four-star review and giving it one-star. The battery life is erratic. Sometimes it lasts 2 weeks, sometimes it struggles to last 4 days. It often disconnects from the WiFi or the app. I often have to delete the entire doorbell from my Wyze account and set up from scratch to get it to connect again. It's very frustrating and never works like it should. I have a lot of Wyze products I really like, but this doorbell is awful. Get a Blink or Ring instead. _____ Original review: I had a package stolen off my porch and decided to get a video doorbell as a deterrent. I've been happy with my other Wyze camera for years, so I thought I'd give their video doorbell a try. Since my front door doesn't have a spot for wiring, I needed a battery-powered option. Installation was simple with the sticky tape. This model doesn't support an SD card, so I paid $20 for the Pro account to get AI features and additional storage. It's much cheaper than other camera plans out there. There's also a free tier with notifications, but it's limited. Initially, I had some issues where I had to keep resetting my router because the doorbell wouldn't connect. After a week or two, that problem seemed to go away. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it. The video quality is good, and I get instant notifications on my phone whenever someone walks on my porch or delivers a package. There are plenty of options to personalize your notification and recording settings. The only thing I don't like is the inflated claims about battery life. The description says "up to six months," but I got about a week out of it at first. To be fair, I live on a busy street with lots of foot and car traffic. I emailed customer support and asked about settings to improve battery life, like changing which events trigger notifications, making the detection zone smaller, and setting detection sensitivity to low. After making those changes, I now get about 2-3 weeks between charges. It takes around 4-5 hours to fully charge the battery. While 2-3 weeks isn't awful, it's nowhere near six months. Again, if you live on a less busy street, you'd probably get better battery life. Most people in reviews claim 3 weeks to a month, so it's still absurd to claim six months. Overall, I’m pretty happy with the video doorbell. Just make sure to set your battery expectations to around a month.

Easy to install if you do the battery option. If you have an old doorbell connection, it's easier to do the hardware install.

I have had this for just at a year & when it works it's great! However, getting the battery to charge is & has been a struggle for months. Now it won't charge at all & I'm a week over the one year. Disappointing!
