Okay, so I have been a loyal BambuLab user for several years. I have typically been running 4 printers at any given time including 2 A1 Combos, a P2S and an Anycubic Kobra 3 Max for larger format prints that exceed the max of the Bambu machines. When I managed to snag this from my RFY, I sold my oldest A1 combo after I set this up on the bench and decided that I am very happy with the machine. First, the unboxing was simple and the assembly is very straightforward. Just about anyone should be able to accomplish the assembly and setup in less than 15 minutes. It's basically 8 bolts that hold the gantry on, 4 connections to make under the printer once that's done, then installing the nozzle wiper with one screw. Very straightforward and all of the necessary hardware and parts were included. Zero issues. Connecting the printer to my WiFi was a breeze with the full color touchscreen and the calibration took about 35 minutes once the process started. Note that you will need to download the Anycubic app and install the Anycubic Slicer on your computer. I am running on MacOS on a MacBook and the app is available in the app store. You will need to create a free account to use the printer wirelessly and cloud print. After the setup was done, I threw a roll of Elegoo PLA+ on the machine and got the inaugural Benchy printed. The Benchy took about 27 minutes to print if I remember correctly and it looks great! Here is the lowdown on the printer: Love the filament management built into the extruder head. Way less stuff to go wrong when compared to the external AMS Lite on an A1, and setup and installation is very easy. There is way less to go wrong when you compare to an AMS Lite on an A1 combo. Basically you just have 4 plastic spool holders mounted on top of the gantry, and that's it. No electronics, no motors, no spools to fall off the top mounted AMS. The textured PEI build plate is a bit thinner than the Bambu, but so far it's holding up well. The alignment pins on the back of the build plate are super easy to line up, and the magnetic plate stays in place during printing without any issues at all. The printer gets hot quick, and the extruder extrudes the filament consistently and the layer to layer adhesion is excellent. The Anycubic Slicer and the Anycubic app basically look like they are direct copies of the Bambu products, so if you're familiar with Bambu, this is a super easy transition. The slicer works well and I've since run the machine for about 6 hours of printing without any issues at all. The long and the short is that this is a FANTASTIC printer with really solid value, especially at the $380 sale price, but even at the $469 full retail, it's still cheaper than a Bambu A1 combo, works equally well and is equally easy to setup, use and navigate. I can't recommend this enough!

The Anycubic Kobra X Ace Gen 2 has far exceeded my expectations and has proven to be an exceptional 3D printer for both hobbyist and advanced home use. From the moment I started using it, the print quality has been consistently impressive. The software is intuitive, user friendly, and easy to navigate, making setup and project management far simpler than expected. My son, who is currently studying Mechanical Engineering, has extensive experience with a wide range of 3D printer brands including Bambu, Prusa, Ender, XYZ, and several others. Based on his experience, this printer absolutely holds its own against many of the best options currently available. While top tier Bambu and Prusa models may offer slightly better precision or faster print speeds in certain specialized situations, the overall value of the Anycubic is where it truly shines. For the price, this printer delivers remarkable performance. The extra large print bed has been especially valuable for larger projects, providing flexibility that many competing models in this price range simply do not offer. The multi color printing capability is another major advantage. Having reliable four color printing at this price point is impressive, especially considering that some significantly more expensive competitors do not include similar functionality by default. The four color system has worked flawlessly, and the software makes assigning colors to individual parts straightforward and efficient. It is worth noting that multi part or multi color prints require using 3MF files rather than STL files, since STL files merge all components into a single object. Once understood, this process is simple and works very well. Features are impressive, but actual print performance is what truly determines a printer’s worth, and this machine absolutely delivers. My son put it through an extensive “3D printer torture test,” specifically designed to challenge printers with difficult overhangs, bridges, precision holes, pillar stability, and detailed text inlays that often cause lower end printers to fail. Despite expecting potential issues, this printer performed exceptionally well and completed the test with remarkable success. The real world results were outstanding, even when using old PLA that I had on hand that has never been in a dehydrator. Only the most extreme 75 and 80 degree overhangs showed minor quality loss, while bridge tests, pillar tests, hole precision, and text detail all came out beautifully. This proved that the Anycubic Kobra X Ace Gen 2 is not just packed with attractive features, but is genuinely capable of delivering reliable, high quality prints where it matters most. For home users, makers, students, and especially Mechanical Engineering students seeking excellent performance without premium flagship pricing, this was an easy 5 star purchase. It offers outstanding value, impressive capability, and has been one of the best investments I could have made.
