My first 3d printer. Very fun to use. It's pretty easy to use. Setup was easy once you watch a YouTube video on how. There is no instructions for the actual setup. There are 3 screws hold the bottom plate in place for shipping that needed to be removed. I had to look it up on youtube to find which ones. They give you a little test filament but it's not on any spools so I'm not sure how I was going to use it. I had ordered filament and it arrived the following day "on spools" Anyways the printer works great! Had fun testing it making little mushrooms and old school clothes pins. The app you install on your pc has a little learning curve. Slowly figuring it out. The phone app what I've read is really bad from the reviews. Not even 2 stars. I haven't downloaded that yet. I gave this 5 stars because it seems to be a good printer, so far. Super cool to watch it print and to hold your creation in your hands when it's finished. It's not too bad for noise. Touch screen is nice. I have many things I want to try and print. I feel like a little kid in a candy store. 😁 I am happy with this purchase. Price was fair and hopefully it will last awhile.

This machine has been amazing! Its fast and print quality has been a huge game changer compared to my old bed slingers. The software stack for it kind of sucks especially their own fork of Orcaslicer but you can still use stock orcaslicer but it doesn't pull in the IFS colors so you have to set them manually. Aside from that so far things have been great! The hardware of this machine is solid , bed adhesions been awesome. I've not had any clogs or issues so far but I've only been using it for a month now. This printer is a great value for the money.. Its a little noisy but I don't really care since it prints so well!

Edit, 2 weeks in: Printer keeps jamming at the 4in1 connector, even though the machine cuts and then retracts. Following the video from Flashforge just causes it to break. Even their support agent in the video has a hard time pulling these without deforming the tube. _____ First off, nice that it comes 95% assembled. If you have problems with putting it together, either its broke, or you should return it and take up building with play-doh. The only reason it took 20 minutes to setup was because of the horrible screen interface, the left hand of the screen is unresponsive, so I have to slide my finger around to get anything to happen. I ran the initial calibrations, and sent my own test print using default profiles from Orca. Torture test if you will. Was running great until one of the rewinders allowed filament to get behind the bracket. Unlike any other multi-color unit, it just printed air for that color for several layers. I think some longer ptfe tubes with a bracket to keep them towards the center of the spool would help. But I'm not about to design a fix for an out of the box issue. There is also no way to use this with my polymaker dry boxes like the other machines, so if you live anywhere where there is humidity, good luck. The switcher on this looks like a rip-off of the Prusa MMU, but without the things that make the MMU work right, like filament position detection. Looks like Joseph Prusa was right about Creality-et all ripping off their design. First layer quality was all over out of the box, some objects had a decent 1st layer, others had gaps, like there was a huge warp in the bed (which it looks relatively flat under a straightedge) . Speaking of the bed, its thin plastic, so Z moves are LOUD. Might benefit from a strip or 2 of dynamat. That might be the bed slamming into the limits, who knows with these. I'm waiting on reply from Flashforge to see what can be done about the 2 issues, before we box it up and punt it back to Amazon like we would with any other bad Chinese tools we find on here. This was just ordered to fill a gap in our equipment while the Mk3S is being upgraded, and I refuse to spend my time correcting bad machine design. Amazon refuses to refund the printer cost despite having it for 2 weeks.

I've had the AD5X for about a month now and it been amazing. Its had nothing but phenomenal 1st layers and the overall print quality is amazing, i also love being able to print multicolor prints all done automatically by the IFS system. I've also seen lots of reviews about the screen not being responsive but personally its worked perfectly for me. Its also a decently quiet printer the only loud part is when it goes to the back to "poop" and it goes over the little latch that knocks the excess filament off. Its also verry fast in my opinion. Compared to the Bamboo lab P1S, i would say it holds up verry well me having used both printers with the only noticeable difference being that its not enclosed which really does not matter unless your using like ABS or ASA, Also as far as it not having an enclosed "IFS" system it really does not bother me i just put the filament in a zip lock when i know I'm not going to be using it for a while, so overall i think its just as good if not better than the P1S especially knowing if yoiu8 want more fancy things like alight or camera you can just buy them separately if you want. The only issue i had was a user error where i let the "poop" holder i printed overflow and it created a big mess but that was my fault. So at least so far its been a 10/10 printer.

I own a small business and purchased this prnter in the 11th hour to replace a broken down Bambu and needed a print job done right now. I unboxed it, assembled and calibrated in 20 minutes and put it right to work. No testing or sample prints or tuning. Excellent budget multicolor printer. I have owned mine since December and have put 1000 hours on the odometer. Still running the original double sided pei build plate on one side and only changed the nozzle once. I've ran all flavors of PLA, petg, a little bit of TPU and abs. Failed prints are minimal considering the volume of printing I've done and 90% of the failures were user error either from set up wrong or incorrect slicer settings. The machine prints quality that can compete with Bambu any day of the week and in a lot of cases out performs Bambu machines. It is rock solid and has been a great investment to my business. Although the machine is capable of printing at blistering speeds I have not pushed it to it's max. I would buy this again without question. Things I don't like are few but there is one dislike that stands out more than others. The purge waste created when printing multi-color is on the extreme side. Often times there is more waste created than the print uses. If your printing something with a lot of color changes you will chew through way more filament than you thought. I typically won't run a multicolor print on half empty spools unless it's very small. Multi-color printing will significantly add print time as well. It's not uncommon for my prints to exceed 24 hours. That said, I have ran 24hr or more prints back to back for a week and the printer doesn't bat an eye and kept on rolling. The slicer is a skinned older version of Orca which is a great slicer in its own right but it's a few versions behind. The skinned version is very integrated to Flashforge which makes it feel more solid but there are features and fixes in the newer versions of orca that the printer would benefit from. When googling for help make sure you are including Flashforge Orca and not just orca. They're slightly different and don't behave the same way. Lastly is noise. It's loud. Running is loud, purges are loud, it's just a noisy machine all the way around. It is not enclosed like it's siblings are in the 5M family. There is an enclosure kit you can buy but beware...it's panels only and you have to print out the entire frame yourself which is advised by flashforge to print in ABS... which you can't do without an enclosure. Probably the worst catch 22 ever. It will take at least 2kg of filament and 3 days. The better solution if you want to cut down noise is use an old tall Creality tent enclosure. You need it enclosed to run ABS as well as cut down noise. Spools are exposed which isn't great for petg or tpu filaments but at this price point other features would've been sacrificed to include an enclosed dry box like bambu ams machines. You'll have to run such filaments out of a standalone dry box to avoid fails. While the printer is relatively easy to use it's not necessarily for beginners. I've seen a lot of these show up on Marketplace right after Christmas that were given to kids as gifts. I can't speak to why but I assume they just didn't have the patience to use it. The price point this machine comes in at, for it's features, is perfect and very affordable for a multi color printer. Especially a core XY machine. Price on this is similar a high end bed slinger that can't touch the performance and reliability of the AD5X.

I picked up the AD5X as my second printer after using an FLSun Super Racer, and the overall quality of life jump was noticeable right away. Unboxing and assembly were simple, and I had it printing in under thirty minutes. Setup and Features The automatic bed leveling is one of the best parts of this machine. I run it before every print since it takes only a minute and keeps everything consistent. The included PEI plate has been excellent. I clean it with alcohol and have had strong adhesion without needing glue. Filament and Printing Filament changes have been smooth. I mainly use SunLu PLA Plus and have had no clogs or grinding. Default profiles in Orca Slicer have given me great results, from fast small prints to large models that fill most of the plate. The touch screen UI works fine, although I mostly watch the live data through Orca. Multi Color Use and Noise Noise levels do rise during multi color printing because of the constant swapping and purging, but an enclosure helps a lot. Purge waste is something to expect, although it can be saved and reused in silicone molds for small parts. Build Area and Results The build volume is large enough for masks and modest helmet pieces when angled correctly. Bed adhesion has been reliable as long as the surrounding temperature stays stable. Reliability I am close to one hundred hours of printing on this machine. Any issues I have had were user error. The included tools are the standard set you would expect, nothing fancy but perfectly usable. Who This Is Good For This is a great printer for anyone starting out, or for someone ready to step into multi color prints without spending a lot. It has been reliable, easy to use, and solid for both small and large projects. Update: it takes some work with a Slicer but it is possible to get a full size helmet out of the printer. Masks are typically no issue but I had to split a full size into about 6 parts. It was a fun learning experience but it shows how versatile it can be with built plate limitations to work around.
