I was able to install this product in minutes. I had to do some filing on the strike plate to allow smooth operation of the deadbolt. After more than 2 months of use, the device has handled entry and exit brilliantly. It’s rare that there’s any kind of delay. I had some trouble connecting to my WiFi and updating the firmware but the outstanding customer support was able to guide me through a workaround. I would definitely recommend this product to any apartment-dweller or someone who has need to retain their existing deadbolt.

**updated 12-09-2024** Manufacturer reached out to me regarding my review and offered a full refund. However before going through with that we went though steps to adjust battery type from "lithium non-rechargable" to "other" mind you the battery in the unit are "lithium non-rechargable" but when this setting is applied the batteries incorrectly read the state of charge showing rapid depletion and an indirect state of charge. After setting the battery type to "other" the lock's battery state has remained at 100% for the last two weeks. I will likely keep this lock and continue to keep testing it with these settings. Main take away is if you're getting poor battery performance try non rechargeable lithium and set the battery type option to "other" --Original review-- Lock installed very easily. Getting matter to work is as expected. We don't use this lock very often at least not the smart capabilities 95% of the time we're unlocking this lock manually from the inside to go out. But that being said the lock chews through batteries. I received this lock at the beginning of October it is now nearing the end of November and I've replaced the 4 batteries in this unit a total of 3 times (with lithium) and it claims to be down to 20% again. This device is located within 10 feet of my access point and had a very strong WiFi signal so I'm not sure why it goes though so many batteries. If this wasn't past the return window I'd return it to Amazon. The app is very straightforward and easy to use. I was even able to get the lock recognized in home assistant via matter. The price was pretty affordable and build quality seems nice. Just the Achilles heel is battery life. You will legitimate spend more on batteries than you do for this lock in your first year of ownership.

I love the ability to unlock this thing with the original key OR with my phone. The auto-lock feature once the door closes is either a blessing or a curse depending on how smart the people are that you live with 🤣🤷♂️ installation was easy-ish, but it did require a fair amount of positioning and "fiddling" to get it to fit correctly with my existing deadbolt. Once you get it correct however, it works great. Takes 4 AA batteries and battery life is great so far, but do yourself a favor and buy 4 rechargeable batteries and save yourself a bunch of money over the life of this thing.

Tried for multiple hours. To no avail. Known issues with matter integration. Cannot connect to Apple HomeKit or Alexa to control. The box says matter integration. False. It will never find the device or network. Looking to return.

I just received both the Holo lock and keypad from Anona Security. My initial impression is that the company made a great product on their first release to market. The packaging was premium and in my opinion looked as good as those from the large market leaders like Google and Apple. The lock itself feels premium being made of metal with an ingenious front cover plate that fixes to the body with very strong magnets. The install was straightforward and would have taken only 5 minutes or so IF I had actually followed the install instructions. The keypad seems solid too although it is all plastic. Even so, the buttons feel responsive and the backlight is handy. I do wish the keypad had the standard layout of 4 rows of 3 buttons that everyone is used to on their phones instead of 3 rows of 4 like Anona Security decided to go with. It just feels very awkward especially if your lock code has a 9 or 0 in it. The Anona Security application for Android is well laid out with most features you’ll find in significantly more expensive locks. I do hope Google Home support gets added soon. I also think adding an auto unlock feature like the August lock has had for quite a while will be a feature many customers will like. All in all, I am very pleased with this lock and keypad and look forward to firmware updates that add more useful features.

This lock is the easiest install of any smart lock I've ever used. I didn't even have to remove my existing deadbolt, I just had to swap the inside thumbturn of my existing lock with the included backplate. Then I attached the smart lock module to the backplate. That's it! I inserted 4 AA batteries and I was up and running in minutes. The app found the lock and set it up quickly and without any issues. It has the auto-lock feature but unlike my other smart lock, it can detect whether the door is open or closed and will not auto lock the door until it is closed. My old smart lock would count 30 seconds and blindly lock, usually while the door was still open. They have an optional keypad that you can pair with this lock which will give you pushbutton code access. It also has "matter" support so it can pair with Alexa, Apple, etc. I love being able to say "Alexa, lock the front door" and within a second or two, the lock responds. For the price, I think this might be the best smart lock available.
