  • Moves a Lot of Air
I am using this as an intake fan on an old SFF desktop. This fan moves a serious amount of air! I had expected it to be silent as I understand that many Noctua products are. This fan is not silent, but it is easily one of the quietest computer fans I have ever heard. For the amount of air it brings into the system, I am not going to complain about a little noise. ... show more

  • Great product!
The product arrived faster than i thought. Great air flow for that size and barely can hear the noise coming from the fan.

  • great airflow, louder than expected.
this fan moves air! but at a slightly louder dB than i was hoping. i used this inside a mixer linear power supply - so depending where you put it could affect noise level. i will note- there is minimal noise- if any, it is just the air movement sound. i ended up using a buck converter to step it down to 7.6 volts and it was considerably quieter with adequate cooling still for my usage. ... show more

  • It's a Noctua Industrial - 8ts exactly as good as everyone says.
I have 6 of these in my rosewill server case keeping 12 hard drives at 31C under load, and they're spinning 24/7, no problem. WAY quieter than any other fan with this static pressure and airflow, and worth every penny.

  • Ordered 80mm by mistake for new Ryzen build. Bit noisy and may have crashed computer?
I meant to order the 120mm fan and install as an exhaust fan on the top of case. When i got the fan i realized i had ordered the smaller fan. Ooops, my fault. My original intention was to replace the old Cooler Master 120 at the top of the case. So instead i just added this fan to the top of the case next to the Cooler Master. So now i had 2 fans at the top of case - a 120 and an 80. There is a 120 at the bottom of the case and 2 120s at the front of case and a 120 on the an artic cpu cooler at the back of case. The noise level went up a bit with this fan. It really cranks out air for a little fan. I attached it to the case fan pins. I left the computer running for a couple of hours and when i came back it was locked up. It would not restart. I had to power down by holding the power button down. Even after doing this it would not reboot. I let the computer sit for about an hour and came back and tried again. It came up with the Windows screen asking if i want to repair the OS. I just chose to reboot and the computer came up fine. What happened here? Well the only thing i changed was this little fan. It is hard for me to believe that this little fan caused this but i suppose it could have been sucking so much air out of the case that it created some type of vacuum that the system overheated and shut down. In any case, i detached the fan and everything seems fine. I ordered myself the correct 120 fan from Noctua and will follow my original plan. This fan spins a lot faster than the 120s and does generate more noise. Maybe this was a case of too much of a good thing! ... show more

  • Amazing for the price
They out-perform any fan in its price range, and you get the material and build quality of Noctuas. Surprisingly quiet for the amount of airflow it provides, and arguably more aesthetically pleasing than regular Noctuas.

  • A whisper quiet fan that works great under 5v power (USB port power via adapter)!
I used this fan (Noctua NF-R8 redux-1800) to quiet down my aftermarket T-Mobile Gateway Trashcan Lid. It required a 3-pin to USB adapter, but works great under 5v power. I am incredibly impressed with how quiet the fan is in this application. Yes, fan speed is reduced, but I don’t need all that much airflow. I just want to provide a bit of active assist without adding to the ambient noise, otherwise. This fan does that, while promising long life, to boot. That’s a huge win/win for me! ... show more

  • Quiet fan with decent airflow
Used this fan as a quieter alternative to the Panasonic OEM on my HP oscilloscope. Seems to work fine, though the Noctua's Chinese plastic is noticeably thinner than the Panasonic Japanese made original.
