  • "Lifetime guarantee" = joke (UPDATED and raised to 5 stars)
Color: Gray Size: 5 Quart
(July 18, 2020) What changed about this pan over the last 6 years? The first time I purchased this pan was at Costco about 6 or 7 years ago for around $40. It quickly became my "go-to" pan. It is perfect when cooking for 4-6 people and I loved everything about it. Alas, "non-stick" coating doesn't last forever (even when using just wooden utensils on it) -- and I get that. So I reluctantly tossed out my old pan and toddled over to Amazon to buy a replacement in 2019. WHOA!! Price is now over $100. This pan has been "discovered!" Anyway, it's a pan I use almost every day, so I purchased it and was prepared for 5 or 6 years of useful life (before having to replace again). WRONG! Using my new pan the same way I used my old one, this new one warped in about 6 months. I mean, warped pretty bad, such that if you try to cook bacon (which is one of the key tasks I do with this pan), the bacon on one side gets done way faster than on the other side. I can literally stick a spoon under the pan on one side without lifting the other. "No worries," I thought... the much-VAUNTED "Lifetime Guarantee" to the rescue! So I went to the company's website, submitted all the evidence (which included a photos of the information on the bottom of the pan, as well as the pan with a spoon underneath) and sent it off to the company. I got the perfunctory email back that it would take 2-4 weeks to process my claim. Meanwhile, I continued to use the pan... and the pan continued to warp. So two weeks later, I took another picture of the situation and sent it off to the company. That was on June 8, 2020. It is now July 18th and I haven't heard "boo" from Analon Consumer Relations. Nada. Bupkis. So here I find myself on Amazon, looking to buy another 5 qt saute pan with a lid... but I will NOT purchase another Analon pan, as much as I loved my first one. Either their manufacturing changed, or their promised guarantee is a joke. Either way, I can NOT recommend this version of the Analon 12" 5-qt saute pan if you have to cook on a flat surface. Writing this review makes me sad... I thought I had found my lifetime pan (knowing I would have to replace it every 5-6 years because even the BEST non-stick doesn't last forever). But warping after less than a year? And completely ignoring my Warranty Claim? Completely UNACCEPTABLE. (July 25, 2020) UPDATE: Back to a 5 star rating. This pan (after trying many others over the years) remains my favorite 12-inch, 5 QT sauté pan. But not without a struggle. After sending Customer Service a copy of this review on July 18, I received a replacement pan in the mail a week later. It was over two months from my original Warranty Claim, but they came through. This is a tremendous relief, as I cannot find any other pan to match the features I love about this one and I dearly hope that they have not changed their manufacturer over the last 6 years and that this pan lasts as long as my first one. “Non-stick” does NOT last a lifetime, no matter how carefully you treat the surface… But that is the case with even the most expensive version of the Calphalon pans, so it is to be expected. The warping of the pan was not. I’ll attribute Analon’s slow response to these bizarre times we are currently living in with COVID However, they said in their original response email that it would be “2-4 weeks for my warranty claim to be processed.” Eight weeks later, they came through. Perhaps they should adjust their automatic email response. (Sept. 13, 2020) ADDITIONAL COMMENT: As I went to throw away the warped pan purchased a year+ ago, I noticed something curious... so I weighed the pan (just the pan, not the pan + lid) that I purchased a year+ ago and the new, warranty-replaced pan. Interesting. The new pan is over 18% lighter (3lb 13.375 oz vs 4lb 11 oz). As this is a LARGE pan, it's actually good if it performs as well (or better) as the year-ago model. But if it warps more easily... well... ANYWAY, this confirms my suspicion that there have been changes to this pan over the years. It LOOKS the same, but the Analon 12" Saute Pan of today, is not the pan I originally purchased many years ago, and again just a year+ ago. Time and use will tell. But wanted to include this information for anyone (like me) who is replacing an older version of this pan. ... show more

  • Although I love the pan for size
Color: Gray Size: 4 Quart
Although I love the pan for size, handles, and quality I am very confused about what is going on with the lid. I didn't report the issue within the window for returns because I thought if I washed it with different soap it might actually come clean, but now I am even more frustrated. The glass always looks greasy and dirty no matter how many times its washed. Despite soaking it, washing it right away, turning it frequently during drying, etc there is always oily residue that builds along one side and makes a mess. I'm not sure if the lid's edge is not sealed well, but it is a major detractor from an otherwise amazing pan. Wish that I could break the code on how to get the lid shiny and clean like my others that are similarly made, but no such luck. ... show more

  • NOT a 5 QT pan! FALSE product description -- it IS a 4 QT pan
Color: Bronze Brown Size: 5 Quart
I am a big fan of the Anolon cookware series, and already own a 10pc set (the bronze color) that I've had for a few years. I was in need of a larger skillet/chef pan (as the largest in my existing set, is a 3 Qt covered pan), and was very interested in the 5 Qt size with deeper sides. I read a few reviews, which were mixed -- many of which said the same thing: That this was NOT a 5 Qt pan, but others said it was "great" or "just what they were looking for." So, I took a gamble. And lost. It was a 4 Qt, just as many other reviewers had reported. The PRODUCT quality and authenticity is not in question -- but it is VERY problematic to KNOWINGLY list a product incorrectly -- and mislead the consumer. FIX YOUR LISTING, you do NOT uphold Amazon standards with your blatant, ONGOING misrepresentation! ... show more

  • Misleading size
Color: Bronze Brown Size: 5 Quart
Although the lead in header states 6 1/2 qt I clearly clicked on and purchased the 5 qt option from the 2 choices available which are 4 qt and 5 qt. However, it only holds 4 qt and my old 5 qt holds 5 qt. As you can see from the attached pics the pan is shorter (as well as a thinner guage metal if you examine the lip edge of both pans side by side) I submitted my return request. Will be happy to have the 5 qt option which I paid $66.99 for. Will also glady update my review as I love anolon pans and know they work terrifically! Update -I received a full refund as the only size they carry is the 4quart regardless of what you see and can click on. ... show more

  • My new favorite pan
Color: Gray Size: 5 Quart
The best thing I can say about this pan is the heat distributes evenly through the pan even on my burner that is set too close to the pan surface. ! absolutely love this pan. I first used it at a friend's house and that convinced me to find it online and buy it. The noon stick surface is a good quality. The side is high enough to fry and the grease does not splatter over the edge. When frying bacon, the grease does not easily burn on the pan surface around the bacon. It says the silicone handles can go in the oven although I have not tested it yet. Over all, it is great pan and lid. The only thing an older person might have a problem with is the weight but it is lighter than cast iron and cooks better than cast iron. ... show more

  • Analon cookware is well designed, beautifully constructed cookware - a joy to use and clean up is a breeze.
Color: Gray Size: 4 Quart
I purchase this 4-quart sauce pan -- with pour spouts -- to replace a 3.5 quart one made by Calphalon. The Analon pan is of a heavier, sturdier construction than the Calphalon pan; really there is no comparison since the Analon pan is a superior product in my opinion. This saute pan is a very well thought out product; the design is functional and well balanced. The silicon handles -- especially on the lid -- eliminates the need for potholders. I like the no-drip pour spouts on either side of the pan -- no more dripping down the side and making a mess on the stove! I have never thought to use my saute pan in my oven but you can with this pan -- I haven't tried it yet but I like having the option to do so if the need arises. To be fair I probably could have used the Calphalon pan in the oven as well. I purchased an Analon starter set back in 2000 to replace my stainless steel cookware and have never regretted it. I recently purchased their 3.5-quart covered straining saucepan with spouts and have really enjoyed using it -- haven't used a colander since purchasing it. Great product, wonderful customer service and a joy to use. Oh, and clean up is a breeze! ... show more
