This heat shield does the job as described. It was super easy to install but removing the protective plastic film wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be, just keep pulling and pulling the film and in a matter of minutes you’ll have it removed. This refractive barrier directs the heat toward where you are and doesn’t waste near as much butane. We saw an Immediate difference. Not only does it direct the heat to give us more warmth but I was able to actually turn the temp down which ultimately will extend the propane tank logivity. Live it and it looks good. The panels are 14” long (top to bottom) which I thought were specified as 18” but anyway it works good and the entire length (width) of the 3 panels are 37” long.Lastly, when you install make sure that ur control knobs are on the opposite side of where you mount the shield, otherwise the heat directed from the shield make the knobs very very hot.

Super easy to install and it really helps bring the heat down to where we are sitting. The only thing that wasn’t clear is that the panels are covered with a plasticky film - it wasn’t mentioned and I didn’t know if it should be removed. I peeled it off of one panel, then decided it was supposed to stay on. 🤷♀️

The protective film was difficult to remove. The adhesive used is very strong. It was strange to remove the film to find a fly squashed in there. Not sure how that happened. Once assembled, it was easy to attach and it does help to direct the heat in the direction you want it.

Bought this after a friend of mine had it installed on his heater, it works great at redirecting the heat in a single direction and allows me to place my heater in corners or against walls without the concern of the heater causing any damage to them. One word of caution though which my friend learned the hard way, make sure that your heater knobs are opposite from the heat shield or they will melt since the heat is redirected toward the unit itself.

I love that I can now use the patio heater in the 14x12 covered section of my deck that is full of furniture and a coffee table. using a point and shoot thermometer, the inside of the shield was about 900 degrees with the flame on medium and the outside of the shield was less that 90 on a 65 degree night. my only concern is after removing the shield, it doesn't fold flat with the locking tabs installed but not a big issue at all.

The instructions don’t tell you that placement of the shield is crucial. If pointing towards the knobs or other plastic/rubber elements, they will burn/melt!
