So, after a couple of frustrating weeks I returned this RK3318 2/16GB Android Box from Transpeed -- but, not before a few of interesting discoveries and in no particular order.… > VPN is NOT supported through ethernet; WiFi only. Connection keeps dropping when trying to use VPN with ethernet. >> Both types of connections pulled content off my network server without issue. > Using 1TB HD storage consistently caused video freeze or system crashes. Switching to 128GB memory stick (the next largest storage device I had on hand) eliminated those issues when pulling and playing videos & music off of it. > I also incorporated a 128GB SD to augment the original 16GB installed without issue; HOWEVER, did not have occasion to really test, despite downloading a slew of apps. > Mini-keyboard supplied is awesome when considering the alternative. >> Could not find power switch (for the Android box) - not saying it isn't on the keyboard just that I couldn't find it and had to use remote. >> Box is BlueTooth capable -- verified connection with my phone -- however, the keyboard is not and required the use of a dongle plugged into one of the two USB slots. > With both USB slots occupied -- External Storage and Mini Keyboard -- I did not connect my webcam/mic combo to test. > Enclosed "User Manual" is actually one strip of paper folded into a pamphlet. The written instructions are more akin to notations to an experienced user from a product engineer that’s been machine translated, POORLY. >> Tried proffered URL for help only to find it links to the Chinese chip maker. No help. >> Generic Android box directions are available on internet but must be extrapolated to fit for this particular application. In lieu of a support/help line, Owner Manuals written by a Professional Technical Writers in their own native languages would save a lot of user frustration and, as in my case, stop the number of returns they must get.* * In fact going through the return process was the first and only time I was connected to any type of technical support! I had started the return because of the system freeze/crashes -- before discovering the <1TB storage limitation. I intend to purchase another Android Box ASAP after some more research. Perhaps the All Winner H6 (is there difference from H616 chip?) instead of the RK chip -- are the boards the same? Cosycost vs. Transpeed, etc? > Any suggestions/advice welcome. I'll be checking replies before making my next purchase.

I also have the earlier version of the exact same box but running Andriod 10 (XPro88-10). This one (XPro88-11, Andriod 11) is a bit faster but still on the slow side. For the price, this is adequate. The MicroSD slot is able to use 64gb cards whereas the XPro88-10 did only 32gb. The XPr088-11 also eliminated the very XPro88-10's annoying chimes at full volume during boot. The XPro88-10 power button has selectable permanent setting. The XPro88-11's power button is always SLEEP but hold for a second will give an option to reboot/powerOFF. Slow as it may be, streaming is good an video quality is good. VLC works very well, Youtube works very well. Both Tubi App and Crackle App doesn't work well but both work much better in Chrome with reasonably high quality video. Both Crackle Tubi works very well while streaming (in Chrome) but selection is slow, same with Crackle (in Chrome). As for general purpose use like web-browsing... Slow is the word. That is why Tubi and Crackle search is slow. Good streaming device however... The mini-keyboard that came inside the factory original box is ***2xAAA*** and NOT lithium rechargeable. NiMH rechargeable (1.2v AAA) will work with this mini-keyboard but this keyboard has no recharger. The MicroUSB socket is there but does nothing that I can tell. *** YOU SHOULD POWER OFF when not in use.*** This min-keyboard has a lithium rechargeable version which I also have. The lithium one draws below 1mA once it goes into sleep mode and lasts more than a months in sleep mode without switching the power to OFF. However, this 2xAAA version draws about 5 to 10 mA in sleep mode and will drain the battery (2000mAH Eneloop rechargeable) in a couple of weeks! There is no sleep-mode cut-off except the power switch. So if left ON, the rechargeable NiMH will be drained to zero or worst if the pair is not well matched -- one may "go-negative" damaging that NiMH cell. So, use the POWER switch, turn it OFF when not in use.

The keyboard does not charge from a usb cord, I had to use AAA batteries to get it to work. And it says on the booklet that you can charge it up or use batteries. But that’s not the case. Kinda disappointed. Now I’m going to have to order another wireless rechargeable keyboard
