    • Fantastic 2 in 1 diagnostic tool that works on rigs and on regular cars. With quality, performance.
The HD100PRO Truck Scanner by ANCEL, is a great little tool that has so much capabilities combined with a compact size and the adaptability to be used for so many things. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying. I. Quality – It feels like a solidly built machine that should hold up well, assuming the electronics survive. I’d put it in the lower side of the upper tier on the quality scale for scanners. II. Performance – This is a great machine if you want to be able to access multiple vehicles with the same device. One thing that sets it apart from your standard scanner is that it has two plugs, one for HD rigs and the other for standard OBD2 for regular cars/trucks. It won’t go as deep or allow as much control on any single vehicle as if you get one specific for that vehicle, but this one will access a ton of different makes and models. However, it’ll do most things you would need and provides a lot of usability for diagnosis, testing, and recalibrating you wouldn’t normally have access to. The connectivity through Bluetooth has worked great so far and allows quick and easy access. III. Updates – This device claims to have free updates and optimization for life. If true, this is a big value and selling feature that many other will charge for. Overall, this is a great device that has worked wonderful for my needs so far. With this device and my mechanical abilities, I can take care of most things at home if I choose to and that’s an amazing time and money saver. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it. You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product.     • Very cool product, I already have one for my car and SUV, now one for the truck
The scanners are almost essential to have. Cars nowadays have so many sensors, and electronics, you will never know what is wrong with your vehicle, unless you take it to the shop. No, you can. You can check your own vehicle, instead of taking it to the shop. These code readers are very easy to use, just plug it in, and it's ready. It may have to do some initial thinking, but once it is set up, it tells you everything about your vehicle, and you can even fix some things, like clear codes. This device itself, is very well-made. And it even looks pretty cool. But the best part, is what it actually does when plugged in. It will tell you everything that is wrong with your vehicle, and code form. And then you can find out what is wrong. This can save you so much time while troubleshooting. This device does the diagnosing, so you can make the correct repair. Overall, this device does exactly what it is supposed to. It works great, and even looks great. Very well-made, very heavy duty, works on multiple brands of vehicle, very compatible. Very easy to use, and almost essential to save money. Can pay for itself trips not made to the repair shop in time. Highly recommended. ... show more

    • It's got what diesel techs need!
Nice that this scanner has DPF reset built in, which is handy for diesel mechanics. If you're unaware, it's essentially the "oil reset" but on a truck, and it has to do with the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter). The DPF needs to run hot and can only get that way on long OTR trips. Short trips will clog a DPF and they require frequent cleaning and maintenance. For instance, cement truck fleets with lots of short trips and stop and go driving, and sitting at idle, will spend a lot of time with the fleet mechanics cleaning and replacing DPF's. Then you need the tool to reset the computer....so you don't have the "Change oil soon" light on, lol. This has all that, which is super valuable for a fleet mechanic. This will also force the "parked regen" which is also a nice feature for short-haul fleet mechanics. The only real downside to this is the app necessary to use the scanner doesn't have the greatest reputation among users, commanding a 2.7 star rating on the Play Store. Clearly, some work needs to be done. The key is if you can get the app to work and connect. If it does, you're golden. If not...my advice? Test it out before the return window closes. ... show more

I am still learning the basics of this very powerful scan tool. There is a lot to learn. The features are seemingly endless and the commercial diesel capabilities are awesome. Also works with many heavy equipment systems as well as consumer automobiles. I do like the connection options and the online resources. I’ve still got a lot to learn and discover but in my opinion this is probably the best in class scan tool option in this price range and even more expensive models. I bought this because it advertised that it could adjust the road speed on a Freightliner with the Cummins motor. Only to find out that it, in fact, could not do so. Returned after their customer service confirmed the incapability. Should better describe the capabilities of your product. Seemed maybe ok for what it is otherwise. Didn’t have any codes to read or erase. So I can’t comment there. ... show more
