YAY!!! MY LITTLE DOG IS EATING AGAIN AND KEEPING HIS FOOD DOWN!!! I am so thrilled!!! Because of a few negative reviews, I had avoided Cesar's Classics & other Cesar's products. BIG MISTAKE.. at least on my part. Our little 16 year old Chihuahua has developed a heart murmur and kidney disease. Per our veterinarian's advise, our "boy" was put on a special, prescription diet. Unfortunately, he couldn't keep the prescription food down. I started him off slowly, mixing it bit by bit with his regular kibble.. which I regularly softened with bottled water. It was okay the first day... but after that, he began throwing it up, having diarrhea, and then finally, just sniffing his food, and walking away.. NO MATTER WHAT I TRIED TO GIVE HIM when regular dog food wouldn't work... even eggs, eggs & bread, low sodium chicken broth on any kibble or eggs.. etc.. he wouldn't touch it... still, he continued throwing up... even when there was only mucus left in his stomach!!! It was so sad to watch his condition worsened. Our poor little old Chihuahua was becoming just skin and bones. I expected to lose him any moment. My worried, frustrated daughter offered to give him a tray of the Cesar's Classics, which she had occasionally been giving to her Chihuahua as treats. I was at my wits end, so in spite of the few, isolated, negative reviews I had read, I gave her the okay. Suddenly.. just smelling the peeled open food, my sick, skin & bones little guy "came alive" wiggling all over & wagging his tail! He reached for the tray before it was set down!!! Of course, I could barely recognize this strange but oddly familiar creature!! As of now, about 6 days later, he's been consuming Cesar's Classics, any flavor, at a healing and nurturing rate of 3 to 4 tray's per day!! NO THROWING UP.. NO DIARRHEA!!! I'm happy to report that he's gradually putting on weight. Our veterinarian had explained that our Chihuahua's kidneys are "eating" his body fat... that's why we had made the diet change which ended up making him so much sicker. I'm not saying that Cesar's Classics cures kidney problems. This moist pate' is however, providing much needed hydration, and our dear old dog eats happily, gets sated, and displays NO negative symptoms whatsoever, from consuming Cesar's Classics. It's a pet's mealtime miracle, and thankfully, is a true blessing for this little guy!!! Yes, this investment is a real hit on my grocery budget. Is it worth it? You Bet!!! The resulting Peace of mind is Priceless!!! THANKS, CESAR'S!!!! ... show more

I bought this food for my puppy, and I've been really happy with it. From the very first day, he ate it with great enthusiasm, which is key for me because he's a bit picky with his food. The texture is soft and easy to chew, perfect for small puppies. I've noticed that it agrees with his stomach; it hasn't caused him any diarrhea or discomfort, and his energy levels remain excellent. Plus, his coat looks shinier and healthier. It gives me peace of mind knowing that he's eating something of good quality. I notice how some orders contain both new and old labels. I assume Mars didn't only change the look of the labels, but the contents as well. I have 4 Shih Tzus who are all toy driven and only eat Royal Canin dry and Cesar loafs. In the last year or so, they all seem to be snubbing the Cesar more than usual. But lately as the company mixes old and new labels, the dogs go crazy for the same flavor new lable, and completely snub the same favor with the old label. And I tested this whole theory. I'd open 3 new chicken trays, and one Chicken with the old label. My 1 year old still has that puppy piggy appetite so she got the old label. She stood there and looked at me and wanted nothing to do with it. I opened another new Chicken label and she ate it all up. This is not Amazon's fault but I had no choice but to put in a return on occasion because they would rather be on a hunger strike than eat something that smells the same no matter the favor, to the human nose. The new labels clearly smell....Different - and the dogs come running for it now. ... show more
