Needed a code reader for my F-350. The packaging was destroyed when I got it. No protective film on the screen, so I’m guessing it’s a return. Understanding the manual is a challenge. You have to make a lot of assumptions because the directions aren’t very clear. Spelling and grammar is terrible. Getting the software update is a guessing game. Have to go to the Ansel site to download the zip file, and then download their unzip program. It doesn’t talk to Windows 7 as they say it should, but it will connect to Window 11. The manual gives you the impression it will open up a GUI when connected to a computer. It doesn’t. Couldn’t get the feedback option to work. Nothing in the manual to help troubleshoot the problem. Have to look into the failure codes it calls out, because the Ford Dealer says there aren’t any failure codes. On one of their less expensive models, the I/M button would identify the code & provide possible causes. This model does not do that. Need to ask some questions regarding other functions & what effect they would have.

Product had clearly been opened before. I attempted multiple times and ways to use this to bleed the ABS system for a Ford 2017 Expedition. It repeatedly failed to communicate with the abs module. Yet, it was able to give a full data live stream from the abs module. Disappointing that this is supposed to be specific to Ford vehicles and cannot function fully with Ford vehicles, even after I updated the tool.

hard to rate , I disconnected the battery before I received this scanner and it wiped the engine light that was on . Now have to drive and wait for light to come back on to see problem or if there is one . Other than that it seems pretty straight forward , if you have problems figuring out how to use and what things mean just Youtube the scanner and watch videos it helps . Its a nice scanner appearance and feel , recommend buying the case I did , will keep it from getting all bumped up .

For the price there should be recommended fix based on fault codes. Other brands under $100 (some of the blue tooth that pairs with phone or tablet provides those features). I bought this unit specifically for ford obd2. This unit is supposed to connect to a computer but seems to have issues with my windows 10.

Works well to give codes and to help locate specific problems with your vehicle. This model #FD700 is specifically for FORD group vehicles [Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury]. However, It works on all makes and models after 1996 using the OBD-II device.

Solid professional quality unit. Has a nice weight and material it is made from feels like a professional quality tool. Works great for my Ford Explorer. It can scan any car, but has ability to show details specific to the Ford computers. I used it on a 2017 Ford Explorer Platinum.

Unit is being used on a 2018 motorhome with a ford V10 engine with just over 10,000 miles. Unit identified vehicle without any problem and found the problem without error. I had an engine light on the display that indicated there had been a misfire within the first few hundred revolutions of the engine after starting. I cleared the fault and ran the test several more times without the error occuring. This saved me several hundred dollars if I would have taken it to a shop.
