The first pilot hole I drilled was a bit undersized and when I got aggressive seating a screw, I ruined the head of the screw trying to force the last 2 or 3 turns. After using a plier to remove the damaged screw and redrilling a proper sized pilot hole -- the rest is a slam-dunk and I had 2 grab bars installed in short order! Great product - very strong, looks great and met all of my requirements. I would not hesitate to use this grab bar product again should the need arise.

The horizontal bar below the shelf insert is one of two Ameriluck grab bars. This was paired with a larger ‘L’ shaped bar due to the large shower footprint. The 16” bar was very simple to install. The L grab bar was quite complicated to install. If I did it over, I would only use the Ameriluck bars.

These grab bars, when installed correctly into studs or with anchors, are sturdy and reliable to assist an elderly person on and out of the bath or shower. Come 2 to a box with hardware and instructions included.

For those of you who reviewed these and said they came off the wall, you installed them wrong! They MUST be installed into wall studs. I’m convinced I could stand on these and they will not come out of the wall. They give you three hefty screws for each side. I put additional ones in each, but I probably didn’t have to. You will need a power screwdriver or else you’ll blister your hands and maybe still not get them in all the way. Well made product!
