  • Great little critter pen!
Size: 46.6"L x 13.8"W x 23.6"H
We purchased this for a hedge hog, being cheaper than the other brand that’s one here by half we decided to give it a go! What we liked - easy to clean. The bottom is water proof. The critter pee doesn’t soak through or absorb into the material. Wipes clean fairly easy. - open top to easier handle the hedge hog with the spines, for my kids to handle and interact with the hedgie. Tall enough hedgie doesn’t and can’t escape - adequate and ample room for the hedge hogs space that’s also fairly affordable. - lines with fleece bedding great. We measured and sewn our own to fit. - easy to set up. My 8yr old son put this together. He just needed help understanding the tabs the bar goes through. See below for info on the instructions - it was an affordable purchase, my son purchased this with his Christmas money to replace a large clear plastic tote we had the hedge hog in before. - works out better than any other home we had for our hedgie - the hedge hog is ultimately happy. Happy critters happy owners! - fits water bottles just fine instead of water bowls. What we didn’t like - the corners: let me explain the bottom is totally flat, with instructions to fold them and Velcro them into a corner. 3 corners were fabulous the one corner not so much. I did reinforce the corners with safety pins near the top - Not a deal breaker especially for the price. The pin holes will not effect the water proof barrier for us as we use fleece for bedding and change every other day. - the panels over lap a bit after it’s all put up which doesn’t give it a strait line on the long side. Might just be my OCD. Again not a deal breaker. - the directions are not helpful if you aren’t mechanically inclined to figure out how it gets put together. The tabs all around the edges go over the last bar on the bottom and you slide the pins through to keep the bottom attached to the panels. It was easy for us to figure out rather quickly but we have a small army of animals here mending and building cages is 2nd nature. We didn’t use the instructions but some may have to. Things that weren’t in consideration for us that someone might be looking for info on: - This doesn’t come with a top, it doesn’t need a top for our needs as hedge hogs aren’t great climbers. That would be an additional cost if you needed that for your critter. The other brands top would fit though based on true measurements taken when it’s all put together. - It has access doors on each side. We didn’t need them. They secure well, but they are kinda small. They would work easily to combine 2 of these together for other critters who would need more room for multiple critters. - the corner stand that it comes with seems sturdy. The tabs to put it on are kinda wonky. We don’t use the corner stand shown in the picture for the intended purpose. I wasn’t even going to use it, until my kiddo suggested it be another hide out for the hedgie. He didn’t like it. We moved it up and use it to set his brush and dustpan on for cleaning the cage daily. - bedding.... I don’t know how this would hold bedding. I’m not a fan of bedding we use fleece so I don’t have that struggle of having a mess. I would purchase again for the price of it even with the faults. To be honest I should have seen them coming before purchasing. It’s a great home for our hedge hog and works out better than anything we have had. Which is tiring and exhausting to find a great cage or pen for critters that’s affordable. ... show more

  • Awesome cages! So easy to transport! Awesome cages! So easy to transport!
Size: 47.6"L x 24.2"W x 14.0"H
My three pigs normally live in a topless 4x4 c&c cage with a 1x1 loft but I needed to buy a travel cage for them with a top as I was due to house sit for a family that had cats and I wanted to bring my pigs with me (and not have them be attacked by the cats). I decided to buy two of these cages since I saw someone else in the reviews had connected two and I wanted to give my pigs a similar space to how they have at home. The cages came with clear instructions and were so easy to set up. What I love the most are the canvas bottoms and how the entire cages fold down easily into a small format making it super easy to transport the cages around (I drive a small hatchback and don’t have much space). In order to connect the two cages, I removed two doors from the cages with some pliers and placed the two cages next to one together. The tops to the cages open making it easy to clean up daily. I highly recommend these cages because of the price, how easy they are to transport, and how easy they are to clean! ... show more

  • Using it for quail but...
Size: 47.6"L x 24.2"W x 14.0"H
I'm actually using this for my growout quail so I can grow them out/sort them into groups before selling them. I've never kept guinea pigs or rabbits but this seems fine for young ones or as a "home base" for free ranging critters. Bought them because they hit what I needed: right price, right size to stack, easy to assemble/dissemble. That being said, they are not sturdy even with the divider and the roof. Zipties along the joints are your friends if your animals jump on the bars (quail do not so this is a non-issue for me). I purchased 2 cages - one was relatively OK put together with a little elbow grease and some pliers but the other cage was a struggle. The struggle one's canvas wouldn't go on right and the roof seemed slightly off in size. I wouldn't say they're difficult to put together but I can see how your mileage may vary because the cages don't seem entirely consistent in quality. You will want pliers if you plan to latch the roof down with the clips provided. And ofc the base is canvas so you will want something solid underneath - I stacked them on top of each other with the cardboard they came in as a cushion/buffer for the bottom of the cage. Maybe I put them on wrong but if you put the shelf in the corner it may interfere with the door - I wasn't planning to use that side so it I didn't bother checking to see if it could be fixed or put a lot of effort into where I hooked them. Reasonable cage for the price. May purchase a few more in the future if I get around to making a shelving until to hold them perm. ... show more

  • Nice quality.
Size: 47.6"L x 24.2"W x 14.0"H
This is a nice guinea pig cage. The divider in the middle is a great addition if you have to separate your pigs. We use one side for a clean side and move the guinea pig over to that side when cleaning the other. The top is great to have as well. This is leak proof and very durable. Doesn't take up much space. ... show more

  • Value is its best aspect
Size: 47.6"L x 24.2"W x 14.0"H
This is an immensely frustrating cage. I had two guinea pigs in a big 6' x 2.5' coroplast cage. One pig passed away, and I got a remote job so it was time to downsize. This cage is a GREAT price for its size, but that's the best thing I can say about it. If you haven't had a cage with a canvas base, please know it's much more of a pain to clean and KEEP clean than a plastic base. It can be done with this, but you have to take the entire cage apart to do it justice, otherwise you're going to get old, soiled bedding caught between the cage and the canvas. The rod system they use to fix the cage to the canvas is... kinda clever I guess? Be careful with it though, because the loops that the rods go through are prone to tear off. I've only had one break, but it was literally the first time I put the cage together. I got the version with the divider and roof. The divider is totally unnecessary for me, but I can see it being useful for introducing two pigs to each other. I keep the door to it open all the time, so really no bother for me. The triangular platform is okay. The height it sits at is a little odd, though. It's too low for an adult pig to get under. I put my pig's pellet dish on top of it and she'll hop right up and munch away. It's a good little exercise to make sure my 8 year old piggy is still nimble! I'd recommend a water bottle hanger you can adjust the height of. The typical Petco ones with the single loop would sit way low or way high. It's a great size - for the price. Plenty of features, even if they are a little half baked and poorly implemented. If I still had two guinea pigs, I'd go with the 2x3 (at least) C&C cage over this every time. I just don't feel like two pigs would be happy in this thing, but my little senior pig gives it like 8 wheeks out of 10. But she's more generous than I am. ... show more

  • Not sturdy at all | Makeshift "bottom" causes bedding to fly everywhere | a BIG waste of money Not sturdy at all | Makeshift "bottom" causes bedding to fly everywhere | a BIG waste of money

**WITHOUT THE DIVIDER IN THE CAGE IS BOTH UNSTABLE AND UNSAFE** So if you don't plan to use the divider or DIY this mess into something more useable then I would just go with another similar type cage. The door to the divider doesn't like to stay open either so plan on having food and water and hay on both sides if this is for one animal or a pair that live together. This was a horrible purchase and I wish I could return it. I have both the midwest verison and the petsmart verison of this style cage and figured why not grab another as I have both guinea pigs and quail that thrive in this type of setup. Very disappointed about how difficult it was to put together compared to the other two. The little shelter/corner hide they give you is not going to stay in place so it will be knocked over almost every time you check in on them. The lid is not something you should rely on to contain your pets. This cage failed for my piggies because of the divider problem and the instability made me nervous. The quail like it a bit better but also managed to escape by pushing through the side door and jumping up at the lid until one squeezed out. There will be more bedding and hay flung outside the cage than the amount that manages to stay in with how low the canvas bottom sits. Also the bottom offers zero reinforcement so you cannot lift this off the ground with anything inside it besides bedding or you are counting on tiny strips of velcro to stop your pet from falling down and getting hurt. Overall I would not suggest buying this. ... show more

  • Very versatile and easy to clean Very versatile and easy to clean
Size: 47.6"L x 24.2"W x 14.0"H
This cage is my go-to guinea pig cage. Very versatile - you can leave pieces off or use everything that comes with it. The mat has held up for over a year now and the cage is easy to pick up and move around for cleaning. You can separate the two sides or leave it open for a bigger cage. My guinea pigs love to hide under the corner piece and eat. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Good & Affordable option over the Midwest Cage
This cage kept my 2 guinea pigs happy. They had space to run. I was able to place two hideys inside and their food dish's. I used the shelf for hay and they liked the option of being able to climb on it. I also switched it up and moved the shelf higher so they could hide under it. They liked that as well. Using it for hay was best for me because the hay did not end up all over their cage. This cage is great. Cleaning is tedious because of the size and well, guinea pigs are messy. I used a big dustpan to scoop the bedding out and used paper liners underneath the bedding to keep the canvas clean. TO ASSEMBLE: you will need to lay the canvas flat, place the cage on the canvas, pinch the corners of the cage so they fold in, pull the rods through the canvas holes. They go on the inside of the cage. The big loops at the end of the rods will rest on each corner. Fold the Velcro flaps along the cage walls. I did it in that order, I think or similar. Hopefully this helps a bit cause the directions are a little confusing. This was way less expensive than the Midwest and it works perfectly. Save your MONEY! ... show more
