I purchased this in medium intense golden blonde (8NNG). My hair was approximately 50% gray and 50% light blonde. I was hoping to achieve a very light golden brown but purchased golden blonde as it was indicated that the color often turns out one to two shades darker when used on very light or gray hair. I used 20 developer and followed the product directions. The results are absolutely horrendous! My hair came out black! There is absolutely no hint of golden blonde. I have used several other brands of gold blonde before and have never achieved a result anything like this. I tried this brand for it anti-aging properties. What a mistake. I contacted Zotos professional by phone as to how this might have happened and for advice as to how to lighten this mess on my head. I was told that this should not have happened and that the box or tube may have been mismarked or expired. Further, the customer service rep who was helping me stated that in the future I should purchase through a local beauty supply or the company directly to ensure quality. Unfortunately, the only remedy is for me to go to a salon and have all of this color stripped, and have it recolored. I hate to have to do this because stripping agents will only further damage my hair. If I could give this zero stars I would. What a mess! ... show more

I’m a hairdresser and this works as good as any. I see a lot of mixed reviews - if you have bleached hair this may Pull the toner color. Will not be accurate if your hair is previously colored either. Always do a test strip first before applying all over . A hairdresser can control A lot of this by mixing colors to achieve the right tone. Don’t Apply to the ends of your hair first . ... show more

I am horrified that this product produced! Almost BLACK (and I tried 2 different tubes so there is something wrong with the product!!) when it was supposed to be 8NNG (golden blonde). There's nothing golden and nothing blond about this product! I was only doing my roots and was horrified to see that they came out completely black so I had to use the other tube to color the rest of my hair so I didn't look like a freak. Plus, my hair was so destroyed, felt like straw and was breaking off. I don't think my hair has ever been so badly damaged - even when I went platinum it wasn't this bad!!!
