  • tried something new and it paid off. tried something new and it paid off.
Color: 174 Sapphire Blue Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I used the mocha and sapphire. I'd never used this type of dye before and didn't realize application is different then I've ever done, that said... Pros: 1.Gel formula was very easy to apply and less mess the cream or liquid formulas. 2.color is vibrant, so easy to see any unsaturated areas. 3. short processing time 4. color comes out as expected from color swatch on page. 5. washed off skin easiely. 6. a little goes a long way. I have mid back length hair, and still have product left in both colors. 7. price point is worth trying out and since semi permanent, if you don't like it, easy to fix. Cons: 1. you have to use heat to process, only 15 minutes but still leaves you stuck in one spot rather then multitasking while developing. 2. Stains surfaces (full disclosure, I only had two spots on my counter, where i dripped and didn't notice) pics attached showing starting point, product used and results. ... show more

  • Cool jelly texture
Color: 140 Neon Pink Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
This hair dye has such unique look and texture compared to other dyes I have tried. The color is really vibrant, pretty pink that stands out without looking patchy. What I really liked was the jelly-like texture , it made it easy to apply evenly on to my hair, and stayed in place without dripping everywhere. It felt smoother to work with than other hair dyes. The color showed up nicely on my hair and gave it a fun pink result! It’s a really cool product if you want a bright pink shade! ... show more

  • Adore this!
Color: 186 Rich Eggplant Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I've been using Adore for about a year and I adore it! 😍 I have Asian hair that has faded as I've gotten older and this dye gives me such rich color without looking overly opaque. It starts fading after about 7-10 days but it is so easy to apply that I like experimenting with different tones. Like I will use 118 as my base and add a little 186. Then if I feel like going a little warmer, I might add 106 instead. It's much less expensive than going to a hair salon and I can achieve the color combo that I'm looking for! ... show more

  • Mocha covers pink, but I suggest diluting it/ Paprika is a true auburn shade on brown hair Mocha covers pink, but I suggest diluting it/ Paprika is a true auburn shade on brown hair
Color: 107 Mocha Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Review for Mocha (3/5☆) This is a tough product to rate because it has pros and cons. I got the color mocha with the intention of covering my hot pink hair. A lot of reviews say the mocha turned their hair green, which I wanted to neutralize the pink. Pros: smells good, easy to use, easy to clean, not damaging, covered pink very well (to an auburn color). Cons: the only con, but it's a big one, is that it did turn the ends of some of my hair, mostly my face framing pieces a greenish dark brown. I ended up trimming as much of it off as I could, but don't be like me and please do a strand test. For the process, I put it on completely dry hair, shower cap, heated with blow dryer for a minute, left cap on for 30 min, rinsed out. I have above shoulder length hair, natural level 2 roots, ends were lightened to a 7/8. I doused my hair and used about 60% of the bottle. Update: It faded fairly fast after only one shampoo, but I made a color depositing conditioner and left it on dry hair for 40 min. If I had done this to begin with, I might have rated it higher. The pic with straight hair is after the color depositing conditioner. Review for Paprika (5/5☆) I'm unable to make a separate review, so I labeled the paprika pics. After the mocha faded, I permanently dyed my ends ash brown, which made it a murky color! I put paprika on shampooed and fully dry hair (curly shoulder length, natural level 2 roots and dyed level 6/7 ends). I fully saturated my hair from roots to ends (60% of bottle) and covered with plastic wrap for one hour, then rinsed with cold water. It turned out a beautiful true auburn color with a copper shade in the sun. It did not stick to my undyed roots, which I preferred. I will be making a color depositing conditioner with this shade too after shampooing. Paprika does bleed a lot, as most red shades do, so wear gloves. It came off my skin easily, and I bleached my sink, and no color stuck. ... show more

  • Crimson for the win! Neutral ish deep red. Crimson for the win! Neutral ish deep red.
Color: 068 Crimson Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Crimson is my new favorite red hair color. I've been dying my hair for over 20 years. For a long time, I did my own hair and used Punky Color and Manic Panic dyes. Then, for years, I had my hair professionally colored using mostly Special Effects dyes. I love the staying power of SE, but not the bleeding! Adore dyes have pretty good staying power, but only really bleed the first few times getting the hair wet. Now, I am growing it out and instead of spending $$$ on a pro, just keeping up my ends in color. The formula is pretty liquidy like Special Effects and unlike the gels of Punky Color and Manic Panic. This makes a little harder to apply, but not too bad since I am only really working on my ends. Even though my hair is nearly black, if I apply this dye to my roots I get a purply/burgundy sheen on the black parts. I spent a long time choosing a red color and looking at swatches online. Crimson was my first pick and I was very satisfied with the final result. Recently I also picked up Ruby Red and Raging Red to compare/contrast and also to dye some extensions with highlights and lowlights. Crimson is a deep red with pink undertones, but almost neutral when compared to other reds in the range. All three reds I have tested from Adore have cool undertones, but Raging Red is very very cool - I am hoping that the darkness hides a lot of the coolness. None have the very warm and orange undertones of PC/MP colors like Vermillion Red, Pillarbox Red and Wildfire. (I tend to prefer these warmer shades.) I've been doing my hair so long I forget that many people don't know how to get the most out of semi-permanent color (which actually is MORE permanent than permanent dye for me). Here are some tips: 1. Wash before you dye, with a harsh "clarifying" shampoo, or dish soap w/o hand softeners if your hair will tolerate and rinse with warm/hot water. WHY? - this opens up the cuticle where color can be deposited as well as strips out other color and junk. 2. Do not condition before you dye. WHY? - this will close/smooth the cuticle and you don't want to do that until after you color. 3. Apply dye, wrap in plastic to contain moisture and apply heat and leave on for WAY longer than directions say. WHY? - this helps penetrate more color deeper. You want to keep it wet and activated, bc once it's dry, that's pretty much it. (This only applied to semi-permanent non-developer dyes.) 4. Rinse in COLD or lukewarm water. WHY? - to smooth down the cuticle again and keep that color in! If you have ever had a Brazilian Keratin treatment, they do the same think when rinsing it out. 5. Condition only after dying. WHY? - to close/smooth down the cuticle and keep the color in. Personally, I don't protect my hairline with Vasaline because it makes more of a mess for me. I just swab off the color with rubbing alcohol. If you bathtub is stained, bleach and AJAX are your friend. I'll update this review when I dye the extensions. I am also going to mix Ruby and Raging and see if the color tuns out sorta like Crimson. ... show more

  • Adore Me Some Adore—Fantasy Hair on a Budget with Indigo Blue Magic
Color: 112 Indigo Blue Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 2)
Let me tell you: I’ve been on a personal journey through the rainbow, and Adore has been my trusty sidekick the whole way. I’ve been buying their fantasy colors off Amazon for a couple years now because a) I only dye my money piece, and b) I like to switch it up more than a toddler in a Halloween costume aisle. My most recent adventure? Indigo Blue. This shade is chef’s kiss if you want that deep, ocean-at-midnight vibe. It starts out looking like you stole pigment from Poseidon’s favorite cloak. It is semi-permanent, though, so don’t expect it to cling to your hair like your cat clings to the warm laundry. I got a solid couple of weeks before it started fading into a soft pastel seafoam vibe—not bad, just a different kind of cute. The fade is gentle, not patchy or weird, and it never made me look like I lost a battle with a Smurf. Now, let’s talk consistency. This dye is not watery like those runny nightmares from some other brands. It stays put, which is great when you’re trying to paint your hair, not your bathroom walls. Plus, each bottle is 4oz and you get two—a total steal for under $10 depending on the shade. That’s salon color price on a ramen noodle budget. Here’s my own Adore color lineup: Rich Eggplant, African Violet, Violet Gem, Purple Rage – All queens in their own purple way. Long-lasting, vibrant, and fade like a dreamy pastel. Neon Pink – WARNING: It's so neon you might start glowing like a Vegas sign under a blacklight. Not actually glow-in-the-dark, but close enough. Jet Black – Ehh... the one I wouldn’t recommend. Fades fast and gives a weird greenish cast. Use a true permanent black if you’re going dark-dark. Back to Indigo Blue—while it did fade faster than the purples, I still loved it. The blue washed out beautifully and didn’t stain my bathroom like an abstract art project gone wrong. Oh, and it’s vegan, cruelty-free, and free of ammonia, peroxide, and alcohol, so my money piece stays shiny and happy instead of fried and crunchy. In short: If you’re fantasy-dye curious, broke-ish, non-committal with color, or just a long-time color addict like me—Adore is the move. ... show more

  • not bad not bad
Color: 186 Rich Eggplant Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 2)
tldr you get what you pay for, it's similar to splat quality imo but doesn't stain things as bad, make sure to condition or use hair mask afterwards product is decent, dries my hair out really bad, fades quicker than most dyes and the pastels fade in 1-2 washes, packaging is not very good one of the bottles busted open inside and i lost a bunch of dye, the bottles have opened in the package before but normally not much dye comes out. i put rich eggplant on top of faded splat pink fetish mixed with tintation red velvet and this is the colour (at the bottom, the top is just pink fetish) i would advise using some sort of hair mask or leave in conditioner after this dye i use mielle or it's a 10 (second pic is right after dying third pic is after a hair mask and 1 week of leave in after i shower + a trim but ignore that becuz i didnt cut off my dead ends so) also the indigo dye is straight up teal and fades very green (i even put it on top of a faded purple btw), if you want ACTUAL indigo you'll need to mix a blue and purple together or get another dye ... show more

  • NOT light BLUE! It’s purple violet.
Color: 199 Luxe Blue Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Easy to use, nice smell, no staining; however, the color came out a very deep dark violet. It's pretty. I think it will lighten to the color advertised, but currently way deeper and darker. I say violet, others called it indigo. I can't share photos without Amazon collecting data on my entire photo library. ... show more
