... if you are not ready to purchase roof rack for your vehicle. It works great for my mercedes gla. Doesn't scratch the sun roof or damage interior. I was skeptical but I have used about 10 times since purchasing and I have no interior damage to tan upholstery and no scratching. It was super easy to put on. The straps and the clips are very durable and the bag that the product comes in is made of super heavy duty material with industrial zippers. I like that the clips have fabric around them so they do not damage my vehicle; regardless of how tight I have made the straps. Never used the latches for the hood because it holds the board securely even driving at 65 mph. I also never looped the straps more than once. And I LOVE that it folds up and stores in a compact case. One little note for some of you who may have purchased this and are wondering why it is making noise.... I have to put my SUP right side up (because of how the board is made and the angling of my car roof and the racks). Otherwise the sound is unbearable and no twisting of the straps will do anything. I drove 75 miles with the noise, and then 75 back after fixing it in silence! Went about 65mph. Glad I figured it out. ... show more

Works perfectly. We have a very large raft and I don’t want to scratch the top of my Yukon when bringing it down to the water. It’s so easy to put in place It takes less than 3 minutes to get them hooked on. They are sturdy and maintain stability during transport. The material seems durable.

Easy to install, lightweight, and comes with a carrying bag. We recently bought a new van that didn’t have a roof rack, and we needed to be able to quickly accommodate our kayaks for a camping trip. This did the job, although we did have to feed it through the windows for the sliding doors on the van. Otherwise, great product. We didn’t notice any loud noise coming from the top of the van, and our kayaks were incredibly secure. Pretty solid roof rack. Didn't damage the car. Surprisingly pretty easy to use. Noise level isn't too bad but make sure your straps are folded when strapping down the paddle craft. Was able to go on the highway safely.

These worked great. We have no roof rack on our vehicle and we used these to transport two large paddle boards on a 6 hour drive. We experienced high speeds and winds and the straps worked like a charm. Pro tip, twist the straps a few times to avoid loud humming noise while you drive.

Functionally this system works well. I have transported my kayak several times without issue. Unfortunately there are some very light scratches and marks on my roof from using this rack despite cleaning my car's roof before fitting the rack. Also keep in mind that a car's roof isn't necessarily designed to support weight in the manner this rack requires - there is some slight flexing of the car's roof after tightening down the pads, though there was no lasting damage in my case. If you only need to use it a few times a year or you aren't concerned about damaging your car's finish it might be worth it for you. If you do care about your car, paying the higher cost of a traditional, model specific roof rack may be better if for no other reason than getting the weight off of the roof itself. ... show more

Easy to use. I have a ford escape the material hasn’t scratched my car or anything. I’m able to securely keep my kayak in place. I do recommend using ratchet straps in addition the the straps on the cushions. Not loud when driving.
