I’m a big fan of Vitamix products, in my trip to America I purchased on Amazon the bundle Vitamix ascent blender with de food processor, came back to Brasil, when Im assembling the food processor attachment, the lid doesn't close and I come to realize that the rubber band is totally ruptured, try to chat with Amazon, but it seems that the robbot the answer the chat can not help, wrote to Vitamix and I m waiting for them to answer me with an solution. It can do it all…my primary function is smoothies and the preset function is great…I haven’t even gotten into food processing and other functions but you get what you pay for and this one is worth the money.

    • Do You Watch Succession?
This is the blender in Kendall, Shiv, and Roman’s mom’s island house. It’s about the size of a VW Beetle. I almost did not get this one. I already had a periwinkle 750 professional series that I was just about in love with, and I was shopping for just the food processor attachment. This thing was available and I figured I would try it and keep the better base. Which I was sure would be the blue one because it was blue. The Ascent is significantly larger and has an LED display with some touchscreen features. I prefer the wheels and knobs of the 750, but the Ascent interface is intuitive and easy to use. Ultimately the decision came down to the food processor sitting and working better on the Ascent. Also, the Ascent did better with nut butter. Faster and smoother and didn’t trip the thermal switch even one time. In fact, I have yet to stress the Ascent to the point of thermal protection. If you are new to Vitamix, it shuts itself down to cool off rather than borking its motor when it needs to. It will freak you out the the first time. Besides the food processor, the Ascent comes with the regular 64 ounce container and wet ingredients blade assembly. It has a beefy warranty and tons of website information. Is it worth the money? For my family, yes. I have lupus with mobility issues and a bit of cognitive impairment. I need a lot of adaptive help in the kitchen. Otherwise, it’s delivery food that has become prohibitively expensive for my family. My husband is working. My son would eat instant noodles for every meal rather than cook. So it’s on me. Oh. They are giants who eat a terrifying amount of food. The food processor gets used every day for hummus and salsa and slaw and fries. The pitcher gets used a couple of times a week for soup and nut butters. The presets and self cleaning are what make it possible for me to use the machine without blowing myself out for days. You don’t get a second wind with lupus. As for which model is better: the 750 is less expensive and takes less room. It works beautifully and comes with a 64 ounce low profile pitcher that fits under the cupboards. It does all the blending work the Ascent does and is self cleaning. If you have a food processor you love, save the money and get the 750. If I could make the Ascent perfect, it would be blue and come with a blade scraper. Recommend for disabled people who need to be able to cook for a family. ... show more

    • Essential for Every Kitchen
This is my first Vitamix and I was blown away by the power and ease of use. It is truly a game changer and has quickly become the most-used appliance in my kitchen and replaced so many other gadgets! The food processor attachment is super easy to use and clean and is absolutely GIANT! I've shredded blocks of cheese, carrots, and zucchini quickly, easily, and uniformly. I also sliced eight quartered apples for a pie in under a minute. Chopping walnuts was fast and easy and created a fluffy "flour" versus walnut butter. Washing the food processor is super easy - just handwash with a soft sponge in hot, soapy water and let air dry, or run through your dishwasher. Both methods have worked great for me with no scratching or clouding of the plastic as I have seen with other brands. The blender is absolute perfection. Seriously, the power and speed is just amazing and a hundred times better than any other blender that I have ever owned. The blending jar is a whopping 64 ounces, so you can make milkshakes or soup for the family or easily blend up a batch of baby food for the freezer. Milkshakes are done in about 30 seconds and come out super smooth and creamy with absolutely no lumps. Nut butters are also done in about thirty seconds and whole, unsalted cashews and peanuts (or any other edible nut or seed) turn into super smooth and creamy cashew and peanut butters that spread beautifully. Smoothies are a joy to make and and drink - the motor turns ice, fruit, and milk into a super smooth blend that you can easily drink through a straw. Where this really shines is fruits and vegetables. Whether you are making soup or baby food, it is amazing. I turned three pounds of quartered, cored apples that I steamed in the crockpot into a pint of delicious, smooth applesauce in under 30 seconds - I just threw them in with their peels and all and the result was a velvety smooth, silky applesauce with a pretty pink tinge with no sign of a peel - not even a speck! Pears, cherries, blueberries, strawberries, and peaches all turn into a beautiful, smooth puree as well and can be used for baby food or in jams to make unbelievably smooth jams. Cherry and blueberry skins and strawberry seeds simply disappear, making a completely smooth, silky puree. Nut milks are also a breeze - you simply add soaked nuts to the carafe with the appropriate amount of water and blend on high for 30 seconds - with no straining required. Rice milk is a cinch by using cooked white or brown rice and adding water to make it the consistency that you prefer and blending for 30 seconds. Cleaning the blender is super easy as well - after use I just add a squirt of dish soap (the regular kind, not the kind for the dishwasher) and fill the carafe about a third of the way with hot water and run it on level 10 for about 30 seconds then rinse with clean water and let it air dry on a towel. The base unit is super sturdy, not slip, and does not "walk" or wiggle during use. It is also super easy to use - you just press the triangle and square button, which is both start and stop and turn the dial from 1 to 10 over the course of maybe 5 seconds. To stop the unit, you simply press the same button. The base automatically recognizes if you have the blender or food processor attachment on it and does not allow you to start it without one being in place. This is also a great appliance for anyone who does a lot of food preservation - either dehydrating or canning as it makes super smooth purees for fruit leathers or jams, uniform shreds for snacking or chutneys, and consistent slices for fruit chips or pickles. It powers through pounds of produce in minutes and removing the peels is not necessary when making applesauce. Overall, this is every home cook's dream unit. It has replaced my mandoline, grater, food mill, blender, food processor, and nut milk maker and has allowed me to make fresh, healthy meals in a fraction of the time that I did previously. Using it is super fast - most things only take about 30 seconds - and cleanup is a breeze.
