Howver, when I went to turn the mini light strand on, they made a subtle pop noise and went out. When I moved them around they would flicker on and off and them emitted a horrible odor, which I can only describe as burning electric or wire. I took the batteries out and tossed them. I love these little trees. They are so cute and have just the right amount of flocking on them. Very lightweight though so don't place in a breezy area. BEWARE of the lights that come with this set. This is a very short string of colored fairy lights. Beautiful colors but they get really HOT. I noticed after having these on one evening that they cut off on their own and I could smell something burning. I couldn't pinpoint it at first but then on another evening I noticed it again but this time there was smoke and I could see a couple lights had burned out, see pictures ... show more
