  • Practical and Stylish Fan… Easy to Install
Color: Black Size: 72 Inch
The 72 Inch Ceiling Fan with Lights and Remote is a surprisingly versatile and functional addition to any room. Installation was straightforward and painless, which I really appreciated, especially considering the size of the fan. The instructions were clear, the mounting hardware was included, and the process of hanging it went smoothly without any unexpected difficulties. Even on a standard ceiling, it felt easy to handle and secure, and the fan felt solid once installed. The fan itself performs very well. The 72 inch blade span moves a significant amount of air, which makes it excellent for larger rooms or open floor plans. I noticed a clear difference in airflow immediately, and it provides a consistent, comfortable breeze without being overly noisy. The motor seems reliable and smooth, and the fan has a well-balanced feel when operating at different speeds. The box came severely damaged so I was concerned about damage; however everything came well packaged and nothing was broken. The built-in light is another strong point. It provides ample illumination for the room and is compatible with standard bulbs, which makes replacing them simple. The included remote adds a lot of convenience, allowing me to adjust both the fan speed and light settings without needing to get up or install a separate wall switch. The remote feels responsive and easy to use, and it adds a touch of modern convenience that is often missing in fans of this size and price point. Aesthetically, the fan is attractive and blends well with a variety of room styles. The finish is clean and neutral, which allows it to work in both modern and more traditional spaces. It has a simple elegance that does not draw attention unnecessarily but still adds a finished look to the ceiling. Overall, this ceiling fan is a great value. It was easy to hang, functions efficiently, and the light and airflow are exactly what I needed. The included remote adds convenience, and the overall design is solid and attractive. Considering the price and performance, it is a piece I would happily buy even without receiving it for free, and it enhances the comfort and style of the room nicely. ... show more

  • A Great Fan That Will Pay for itself in a Year
Color: Black Size: 72 Inch
This is a very large 72-inch, eight-blade, powerful ceiling fan with lights, a remote, reversible blades, a quiet DC motor, a light with three color temperatures, and is ready for damp locations. Use outdoor use, meaning in a gazebo or lanai, but not directly in the rain. This is a beautiful product that will likely pay for itself in less than a year and save you energy on your electric bill. I like fans for their energy-saving qualities. Most thermostats are located midway between the floor and the ceiling of homes. By having fans, you can equalize the temperature between the floor and the ceiling, reducing the need to run your heating or air-conditioning units excessively. In the summertime, because cold air is heavier, it will rise from your air-conditioning equipment and fill the room, like filling a pool with water, but with cold air instead, and your air-conditioning thermostat will keep running until the water level reaches the thermostat. By having a fan that pulls up the cold air and distributes it evenly throughout the room to equalize the temperature, the thermostat shuts off earlier. In the winter time, the opposite affects the heat from your heating system because hot air is lighter than cold air. Air tends to gravitate toward the ceiling, so it’s like filling up a pool upside down with water. The warmest part of your home is closest to the ceiling, and the coldest part is where people live on the bottom half of the floor. With this fan, it pushes hot air down to ground level, where it mixes with the cool air, so your thermostat doesn't have to work as hard. It also brings warmer air to the thermostat, saving money in the wintertime. This is why these fans are usually reversible; they're also Quiet DC motors. This fan also comes with three separate lighting temperatures between 3000° Kelvin and 6500° Kelvin, all controlled by the included remote. The remote control device also controls the fan's speed and direction. The remote-controlled device also has a built-in timer that lets you set it for 1, 2, or 4 hours, and it automatically turns off after that. Installation of fans can be done by homeowners, but I usually do not recommend it. That’s because they’re very heavy. Secondly, when the fan is blowing cold air up into the room in the summertime to equalize it, it’s literally trying to pour itself out of the ceiling, like an airplane engine. People frequently place fans directly over the bed where they’re sleeping, and it would be very bad for the fan to come out of the ceiling and land on you while you’re sleeping. For that reason, although you could install it yourself if you're particularly skilled, I recommend professional installation. They use a fan junction box. You would replace the junction box in the ceiling that you’re working with or run a line for the fan, all of which most homeowners would rather not do themselves. A fan junction box literally connects two joists in the ceiling with four long screws on each side and is guaranteed to hold up to 70 pounds. Most of the existing junction boxes couldn't accomplish this, and installing this junction box that’s literally 16 inches long. You need to make a 16-inch hole in the ceiling that’s about 4 inches wide, then spackle it and install drywall. It has to be taped, spackled, and painted, all of which complicates things for the homeowner. It may be easier to have someone else do this job, particularly someone who’s done it many times a week and knows everything that can go wrong. This caveat may not apply to you if you’re installing it directly into the roof beams of the room you’re going to use, or if you're using a great room with an exposed wooden roof. You could do it yourself by screwing directly into the beams with the required screws to hold the fan. This wonderful fan with a remote illuminates the need for a separate dimmer switch and eliminates the need for a separate on switch. It’s all controlled through your remote, and when winter comes, and you wish to change the direction of the fan, that’s not a problem, either; you can do it from your remote. ... show more
