The SOS Sub Surface Carpet Extraction Tool allows for targeted airflow to the pad and backing beneath the carpet to extract contaminants, odors, and liquids, such as pet urine, feces, vomit, and more. Description Traditional cleaning methods will clean the surface of your carpet, but won’t reach the real cause of odors and reappearing spots — your carpet padding. Carpet padding is the true source of odor, and reappearing spots and can only be reached with a sub-surface extraction tool like the SOS Tool or SOS PRO. What is Sub Surface Extraction? Sub Surface Extraction is used by professional carpet cleaners to thoroughly remove contaminants, liquids, and odors that have soaked into carpet padding and upholstery. Short of removing carpet, sub surface extraction is the best method for flushing out the true cause of odors and reappearing spots. Using the StainOut System STEP 1: Saturate the affected areas with Smiley Paws, a professional grade strength Urine, Odor, and Stain remover. Allow the cleaning solution to seep deep into the carpet’s backing, padding, and subfloor, in order to target the entire odor source. The solution will work to rehydrate, emulsify, and break down organic soil and pet urine solids in preparation for extraction and rinsing. STEP 2: Finish by using the the SOS Tool with an extractor, truck mount, or wet-and-dry vacuum to flush out the solution and contaminants from the carpet.

The media could not be loaded. I got this in a last ditch attempt to save my carpet from our family pets who have gotten older and couldn’t make it outside in time. It’s either this or replace the carpet. Honestly, I think it may be too late to save the carpet but if I had this thing awhile ago, I could have kept up with the pet stains over the years and not needed to replace the carpet. Works really well and its so easy to clean. My dog has his accidents frequently and this makes the cleanup process easier. Its expensive but worth it. Very strong suction.

I wish i had known about this before now. Had a senior dog then puppy having an accident or 2 or 3 🙄and our “pet friendly” carpet from Lowe’s has been terrible. Worked and worked on the stain only to have it come back. Even after a professional cleaning. This tool gets down to the problem and removes it so it won’t creep back up. It works great with our shop vac and I won’t be using the worthless store bought carpet cleaners anymore. Clean the spots with this and call a professional to finish the job. ... show more

I have a big green machine and lots of various carpet cleaning chemicals. The struggle I always had was extracting enough liquid for spot cleaning. Deep down pet stains need flooded with a lot of solution, and most of that needs pulled back out. This tool worked very well for pulling out the liquid at a price point that I could afford. It's a bit small, but large ones run in the hundreds. I suspect the one star review for smell was a returned item. Someone probably used it with a carpet cleaner and returned it. ... show more

Professional service wanted $75 for every 2’ x 2’ square area of carpet. This did the job. I used vinigar and water mixed to remove the scent of enzyme treatments. Thank you for making this little thing!

The media could not be loaded. This thing is amazing. I wish I knew about this before! So much liquid is being pulled out it's simultaneously fascinating, but also disgusting.. It also takes way longer than you think, I've left it in-place for 10 minutes and have come back to it still pulling up a bit, just leave it in place and come back then move it if needed. As another reviewer mentioned, you may need an adapter to connect to this.     • Powerful cleaning tool
I used this today as part of an ongoing effort to save 2 area rugs that my dogs love to pee on. The device fit right into one of the included tubes of my shop vac, so that was the first good sign. When it was in action, it really sucked the water and detergent out of the rug! I previously tried the included attachment in my shop vac but it created so much suction that it kept pulling up the area rug. Not this. It stayed firmly on the floor and only sucked water. It was easy to shimmy around the carpet pulling water as I went. The pros: easy to use, powerful, fits the shop vac without additional accessories The cons: it's smaller than I would have liked, and the screws became loose after awhile, including the handle screw which kept staying loose. I am trying super glue to keep it together. I didn't want to take a star off for that though because I don't regret buying this. ... show more
