SO much better than pine shavings for chicken coop litter and bedding. It’s light, dry, and has way less dust than pine. It is a little more expensive than pine, but I feel like I get a little more time out of it so I’m happy to pay a little extra for a better product. I have a fairly small coop, so this bag lasts me two litter changes. It is quite soft, similar to pine shavings, but smaller pieces.

I got this bedding for my rats and if you’ve owned rats you know the bedding shuffle…..well. They’re little respiratory systems are so so finicky especially on wood beddings. However imo wood shavings are the BEST for keeping the scent controlled and low. I’ve had my rats on aspen forever constantly doing the brand swap trying to find something less and less dusty. *Consistently less dusty* I should say. Because with aspen you buy one bag and it’s perfect and the next bag is a dust pile. And that’s with EVERY brand. I’ve had three emergency vet visits because one of my rats is so sensitive. I’m sick of the vet bills that are directly caused by these companies not dust extracting their products properly. Yet advising their products as 99% dust free when it’s really like 70% dust free. I’ve been seeing people rave about hemp bedding so I figured I’d give it a go. This one isn’t bad. It’s not very soft and that’s about my only real complaint. I mixed it with some kaytee clean and cozy to help the softness. No seriously sharp edges that I could feel when I squeeze it. It’s a little dusty, but not too much, at least not enough to cause any problems with my rats. Finally a good neutral wood bedding!!! now hopefully the next bag I buy won’t suck and we might have a solid base I’ll update this review then.

I was expecting a MUCH large bag for this price. It's about the size of a 10lb bag of rice. Granted, its vac packed and stuffed tight, but it's not a lot. I'd need like 5 of these bags to line my small coop with an inch or 2 of it. I wanted to love it, but i'm going back to pine. The hemp itself is decent, there's just no value.

Definitely NOT worth the hype at all! This is not anything like the hemp bedding I've purchased elsewhere! Terrible waste of money, didn't absorb at all and the ammonia smell was horrendous! I really hoped this was gonna be my new replacement hemp bedding; sadly all I did was waste money

I have used pine shavings in the past and kept having moisture problems because they weren't absorbing the moisture, so I search for a new product and found this hemp bedding and decided to give it a try. I love that it is dust free, very absorbent, quality bedding, and it takes way less product to maintain my coop and 2 brooder. The bedding is very soft and does a great job absorbing moisture and I've noticed it helps keep the smell down too. I just ordered my 2nd bag and excited to keep using this product.
