I got these to line a barrel stove maple sap evaporator. They work very nicely for that purpose. I have some thicker bricks on the bottom and use these for lining the sides. They arrived individually wrapped in thin foam sleeves and then boxed together. All arrived intact. These are a mid-weight brick, somewhere between the soft, foamed refractory bricks that you can carve with a spoon and the harder, traditional firebricks. These are a nice looking, light weight firebrick and will work nicely in a wood stove. They were well packaged and arrived perfectly intact without any cracks or chips. These are a nice standard size and I like that they can be easily cut to size to perfectly fit your stove. In my case I was fortunate and they fit well without any cutting. These are fine as long as used as intended. I would not use this type of firebrick for things like the floor of a pizza oven. They serve as great insulators but are not good at retaining heat or hard enough for a pizza oven floor. There are different types of firebrick for different purposes. I picked these up for use in my kiln as 'setup' bricks, used to hold pieces as I'm heat treating them. The 2200F limit is a bit of a low number, but should be good for my uses. What I DO like about these is that they are 'durable' bricks, rather than most fire bricks, which are pretty fragile/brittle. While I believe these lose heat retention as a biproduct, they are good enough for my uses. ... show more
