I bought this for the blown speaker in the back of my Tahoe because it was cheap and I seen somebody else didn't. for the price you can't beat it it's better than paying for a jl audio or something like that I'm rather pleased

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this subwoofer for my 2002 Chevy Tahoe with the non-bose system. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it actually fits without modifying the factory box. You do have to drill new holes for the screws to go in, but the basket fits in the opening, and the magnet does not bottom out in the small enclosure. I am currently running it from the factory amplifier and while it won't win any SPL contests, it does sound clear and hits the lows very very well. It's a very accurate subwoofer and downright fantastic when you factor in the price. I posted a video on youtube if you want to see how I did the install. It's titled 2000-2006 Tahoe Subwoofer Install. I attached a picture too, sorry for how blurry it is. **Update** I have now been using this subwoofer for a few months and still absolutely love it! it sounds even better than it did when I first installed it. It seems to have warmed up a bit as it broke in. I have also now attached a video that outlines my installation in my 2002 Chevy Tahoe. I hope it's helpful. Replaced my factory sub with this, hooked up to the factory 85 watt amp for 2 weeks to break it in. 2 days ago I installed a 200 watt amp and the speaker is rattling. Won't even handle a 3rd of what it's rated at.

Wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. Bought 2 of these for separate boxes. Wired for 1 ohm power Acoustik 3500 w amp that coat $100 with taxes . Can't beat the price. I also added the 3 year extra warranty for 8 bucks. Nothing lasts anymore so for $62 total and guarantee of 3 years. Why not. ... show more

I bought this because it was cheap and honestly I was pretty impressed. I bought the PA 1500w amp to power it. First off this thing couldn't handle 1200 watts on its best day. And the amp wasn't pushing 1500 watts so it was fine. I had the amp cranked all the way up with the sub in a ported box to PA specs and it sounded really good. It didn't sound as good as a $100 8" sub but it sounded great for the money. BUT then I burned it up. I decided to try my old kicker zr600 amp (factory spec'd at 740 watts) and with the amp turned up 1/4 of the way up it sounded AWESOME for about 3 minutes then it cooked. You want cheap decent sound? It isn't bad at all. Just don't push the limits. I have had the sub for 2+ years and it has held up fine till I tried actually giving it a couple hundred real watts. I wouldn't buy it again but I'm not disappointed in the purchase either. ... show more
