I replaced an ornate 20-year-old ceiling fan with this modern looking, sleek fan from Katstle. This fan has an impressive wing span of 52 inches and features solid wood blades that look amazing. The wood is Paulownia, which is a fast-growing hardwood that is grown in several areas around the world including Asia, the USA, Europe and elsewhere. The blades that came with this fan are defect free and look clean and efficient. This fan, like most others it would seem today, comes with a master control unit that fits inside the base housing, up near the wiring. All wires come and go from this module. The remote control, which can be mounted on the wall with the included mount, communicates with this master control. It was mildly challenging to stuff all of the wires into the ceiling housing while trying to tighten the mounting screws. This was made a little easier by using a small zip tie to bind some of the wires into a small bundle. In operation, the fan is very quiet. The controller is easy to figure out and the instruction booklet gives a detailed breakout as the function of every button. The fan has 6 speeds with corresponding numbers on the controller. The lights have handy beep that tells you when you've reached the lowest or brightest light settings via separate increase/decrease buttons. The LED light can be switched among three different "color" choices, from warmest to whitest. I found the middle setting to most pleasing. As with most modern fans, there's a "natural wind" button that automatically varies the fan speed to simulate natural breezes. Very nice. Even at high speed, my fan seems to be in perfect balance; however, a balance kit is included in case you need to do that. There's also a 10" downtube if you need that. The only nit I would pick is that the base plate where the fan downtube meets the hanger could use a color-matching cover plate to hide the two screws and black swivel. Just my opinion. A great value. I'm considering getting two more of these to replace the two fans in my great room.

As we all know, it is BLAZING hot outside.. finding an effective and efficient cooling solution is important. Enter this fan! With its three aerodynamically designed blades, this fan generates an impressive airflow that effortlessly circulates throughout the room. The blades are perfectly angled to create great air movement, making a breeze that feels great. Despite it being a powerful fan, it's actually very quiet. Most fans make some sort of noise that can get aggravating when you're trying to relax - but this one is wonderfully silent. Installation was a decent process - a job similar to any other fan you'd put up. My fiancé installed it for me in less than 2 hours. All the pieces were there and the instructions were legible to where we could read it and follow the directions. Besides the great performance, the style of it looks superb. It's modern, yet has a touch of class to it. It fit my living room perfectly. If you're looking for a great fan to cool your room, while adding a look of sophistication - this fan would be a great choice!

I got this for a remodel that we're going to be doing; I like the look of this much more than the traditional fans that make you think of your grandmother's house. The propeller-like fan blades add a bit more of a modern look, while the warmth of the wood makes it fit in with a bunch of different design styles. I haven't installed this yet, but the quality seems good. I don't love that the frosted light shade is actually plastic, though I'm guessing that won't really be apparent once it is installed. I like that you can change the color temperature of the light to vary it from warm to cold. An important thing to note is that in inspecting this fixture, it doesn't appear that it can be used with a typical ceiling fan wall switch that lets you turn on/off the light and fan and dim the light and vary the fan speed from the switch. All of that needs to be controlled from the remote. I don't love that because what happens when the remote fails?

I have installed multiple ceiling fans before, this one is pretty similar if you are familiar with the process. No surprises. I do like that the remote control is a separate component, I may replace it because of the beeping. I had planned on doing so anyway once a “smart home” fan control comes out. I love the modern, sleek design, I thought it was impossible to have real wood fan blades, all you ever see are basically pressed cardboard. I hope this fan lasts, because I love it.
