I was pleasantly surprised when I unpacked this and studied each part. Everything was heavier duty than I expected, and quality material was used in the construction. A big part of this item is assembly. I liked that all the parts and fasteners (SEE PICTURE NUMBERED “1”) were labeled. I’ve been a DIY’er for 55 years and recognize quality fasteners which these were. The labeling really helped with the assembly. The 7”x4”, heavy stock paper manual which included assembly instructions was well written in grammatically correct English. It also helped that the font size was large. Each page only included one assembly step, and the fasteners needed, and how many of each, were listed on the top of the page. Each page had large clear diagrams of where the fasteners were installed. There were rare typos but since each page was so basic, I did not even notice the typos until later. The manual says it’s helpful to have two 10mm wrenches and two 13mm wrenches, a stepladder, solution to detect leaks and other tools. I included a picture of the minimum tools needed for assembly. Some parts are preassembled, but a portion need to be tightened further so I included those additional tools (SEE PICTURES NUMBERED “2” and 3”) I included another picture of “luxury” tools needed to make assembly go easier and faster (SEE PICTURE NUMBERED “4”). There is one thing not mentioned in the manual or in the Amazon sellers description is that the igniter needs a AAA battery inserted to operate. I LIKE SO MANY THINGS ABOUT THIS HEATER: ◾ The outer finish and design complement any area. ◾ I like that the base has an opening to add about 15 lbs. of sand. This weight plus a 20 lb. gas tank anchors the heater pretty well. There are also two 7” long, 5/16” diameter spikes that can be used to drive into the ground if not on a solid surface. ◾ The barrel shaped tabletop that houses the gas cylinder is easily lifted up and propped in the upper position to easily replace tanks. ◾ An access door in the tabletop allows access to turning the tank valve on and off. ◾ There are wheels on one side of the base allowing the heater to be leaned over and wheeled around to move. ◾ The igniter and gas controls work well. The heater starts very easily. The warranty is 1 year, 2 years or 3 years based on the part needing service. Contact is via the Amazon Seller Messaging Assistant. They are very quick to respond. I sent a message after business hours regarding how to contact them for support, and they replied in less than 3 hours. I was impressed by this Mars Explo Patio Heater and HIGHLY RECOMMEND it.

This patio heater was the perfect addition to our large, multi-level deck. We have a fire pit in one area, but wanted something to heat another part of it for social gatherings in the cooler months. This did take some time to assemble, so be patient and take care to think through each step. Overall it feels well built. I have no problem recommending this.

This Propane Patio Heater with Adjustable Heat Focusing Top and Wheels seems to be well designed and a good quality product. I does take a little while to assemble all the parts. The Portable Wheeled Base is very convenient for moving the heater from place to place. The adjustable umbrella style heat reflector makes it easy to adjust and direct the heat where it is needed. The Base stabilizes the heater for wind resistance and has a clean look to it. The heater is also designed with a one touch ignition system and an adjustable control knob for the heat output. I was skeptical that the heat would spread up to 18' but it actually does. This is a very nice patio heater and I am excited to spend more time outdoors on the chilly nights. I highly recommend this patio heater.

I felt like with the amount of pieces It would have gone together in a few minutes. It took quite a bit of time. The instructions are ok. Just a lot of screws. We had a hard time with the screws that attached the first section of the heater to the pole. They didn’t fit “great”. Then the instructions for the top isn’t super specific so we had it all together and had to disassemble it because the arm wasn’t lined up properly. So my advice would be to make sure when you are assembling the top you make sure you are able to screw the top to the bracket and the arm to the top so it reaches the adjustment. Once it’s together it’s easy to move and attached the tank. Starts easily and throws a ton heat! Super happy with it now that we have it together! lol!!

This heater heats great and the adjustable angle on the top is a nice feature. I have a couple issues though, the bolts on the top part of the pole that attach the top part to the main pole are loose, and they just spin when trying to tighten them (I'm assuming there's bolt on the inside but no way to hold them down while tightening). It's not sure loose, but does have a little wiggle. Also, the ignition doesn't work. I've followed the instructions and have used similar heaters and now how it should work, but nadda, nothing happens when you push in the ignition button and hold the gas button down on the light setting. It's super easy to light it manually though and while the top is a little loose it's still stable. My main reason for the 3 star review would be the ignition not working, definitely not convenient to have to keep a long lighter around to light it with. If the ignition worked I'd do 4 stars and if the top was nice and tight it would get 5 stars, but as is - 3 stars... It does heat very well and we'll be using it for sure, but if I had paid full price for this I would exchange it or buy another brand.

You should take time to get familiarized with all the parts as the instructions may have some typos. It will take you 40 to 50 minutes to put it together. The bottom is supposed too fill with sand so get some play sand .. The table is nice and convenient , the heat shield at the top allows adjusting the direction of the heat which is great.
