For the price, I was skeptical. I bought one, initially, to test it out. My assumption was that I will return it within Amazon's return window. Boy, was I wrong! At 3MP (2560x1440, 30fps) resolution it passed the video quality check for my purposes. Both day and night footage were good enough for the details I wanted to capture. YMMV. Then the "Canny Cam" app was very intuitive and straight forward. No glamorous icons, complex navigation paths, obscure menus, etc. Very simple, straight to the point, practical user interface. A+ Then the camera features, all of which are functional through the App ... Life view features: Real time life view - check Life view 2-way push-to-talk Audio - check (low volume at highest setting but it works. PTT means one party talks at a time) Life view initiate recording immediately - check Life view take instant photo - check Life view - zoom in/out (digital zoom, grainy, not optimal but it is there) - check Life view activate Siren - check Alerts (to owner/intruders): Strobe/Flash Light (referred to as "Night Vision White Light") - disable, always on at dark places/after sunset, on only on detection events (motion/sound) after sunset/in dark places - check Activate siren on events (sound, motion detection) - check Send detection events immediately to phone through push notifications - check Recording: Record continuously - check Record on motion - check (set motion sensitivity level and type: humanoid, objects, light changes etc) Record on sound (glass breaking/door banging. The camera has standard USB-A cable, input is 5v/1A (comes with a wall charger). Instead of plugging it to the wall charger I plugged it to a portable power battery bank, took it to a field and was able to monitor it for as long the battery lasted (approximately 10 hours). Very useful when you are off the grid, have no close power outlet, bird watching, wild life observation, parking lot monitoring, etc. But here's the kicker that really blew my mind and had me buy 4 more. In-app Chat/Support (also sent to your registered email) - the people behind this product were very responsive and courteous. They responded within few hours, even though they say they will respond within 1-2 business. When I drew their attention to a non-significant (IMO), non functionality-affecting, app glitch where events were saved locally to a date that's off from the actual date it is recorded (the on-screen display showed the correct date and time stamp, as well as the footage file meta-data), they investigated and determined that it will be fixed in the next app release (update: Now fixed). They went above and beyond my expectation for a product at this price point. I reckon buying brand name items that are orders of magnitude more expensive only to receive the "we don't appreciate your business" attitude from their after-sales customer service. I really can't recommend this camera enough. My only concern right now is longevity. But heck, even if this camera dies after one year, it would have paid for its price multiple times. Not to bash other brands, but these cameras are replacing an expensive (relatively speaking), subscription-based, camera system that I used to have and am fed up with their support and monthly fees. Hope this helps someone still making up their mind Update: Buy (or have) properly working microSD cards. There are online sites that sell these dirt cheap. Notably one that starts with SH, another with T, and finally our old friends at eB. JUST DON'T DO IT. Don't buy microSD cards from these sites. I had all sorts of problem with cheap cards bought there. On a computer they showed all sorts of glitches (not holding on to data, requiring to be formatted every time you "safely" ejected and then re-inserted them, etc.) On a Camera system other factors are in play (WiFi, network latency, etc.) and it is considered a "mission critical application". Speed and quality matter significantly in this scenario. Fork the money and buy cards from reputable retailers (off-line is better), with a solid return policy. My 2 cents. Installation tips: the hanging hardware kit that comes with it is flimsy, to describe it politely. Don’t use power tools with it. You’ll break it. If you’re not handy, get someone to put it up for you. If you are a DYI, pre drill your mounting holes and use a hand screw driver. I stripped 2 screws with a power drill and I’m very experienced. To the people behind this product: 1) keep it up you’re doing a good job 2) don’t raise prices 3) ship better quality hanging hardware and add hanging instructions to the manual 4) consider shipping with compatible micro SD cards to avoid customer issues blaming their cheap, low quality, SD cards not working properly on your great little camera

I am extremely impressed with this home security camera! The price is unbeatable for the quality and I especially love that it plugs directly into a power source, so I never have to worry about constantly recharging batteries or fear losing coverage at important moments. The video quality is crystal clear, setup was simple, and the app works smoothly with my Android phone. What truly stood out to me was the customer care team, she was incredibly attentive, professional, and genuinely helpful when I had concerns. It is rare to find a company that stands behind its products with such amazing support. I am beyond satisfied with my purchase and will gladly buy more of their products again in the future!

UPDATE::: I was contacted by the seller after leaving my review. The customer service was incredible. So much so, they sent a replacement camera. And I need to send an apology because it wasn’t the camera. It was the sd card that was trash. All the cards did Not work! Replaced with a different brand sd card and it works amazing! I would recommend this camera! It doesn’t record. Hasn’t since I purchased it months ago. Keep getting an error message. It does work though. Picture is clear during both day and night. Has a delay. I wouldn’t recommend or purchase again.

So this is a good camera. This does need to be plugged in which I didnt know when I bought it. The picture during the day is amazing, however if its in a kitchen window it can't see out the window at night with or without the night mode on. Its easy to use on my phone i just wish I would have read more that it needed to be plugged in. In my apartment there's no outside plugged ins and I can't safely place an extension cord outside. It does come with screws to mount it but there's No instructions on how to mount it and I couldn't figure that part out. Its a decent size.

I am really impressed with these little buggers. I have one monitoring the front of the property and one for the back. I just pointed them out a window and adjusted the view a little then done. The install instructions are clear and easy to follow. I am impressed by the quality of the image even through a window. The night vision is pretty good as well. I do get notified when there is motion detected and it's usually a delivery person or a neighbor walking their dog or something like that. I am confident that if there is some nerdewells out there, I'll have a decent quality video to share with the person I will hire to deal with them. The price of these are surprisingly low for the quality of the video. They connect to my wireless network easy and all in all, I'm pleased enough to recommend them to not only my friends, but to people I don't know at all. I am considering getting 2 more for the interior of the house. I need to catch the person who keeps removing chocolate from the candy dish in the evenings. Oh...since It's just me here...Yea, these work great. Oh, the sound quality. No idea. haven't tried that so I can't comment.

This security camera is one of my more favorite ones for the simplicity of it, but mostly for the reliability of the connection. I have been able to check my camera from my phone from numerous locations and all different times of the day and it connects Everytime. Some other security cameras I've had won't connect the first time or randomly disconnect while watching it even have a bad lag. This sturdy little piece of mind hasn't once disappointed me and the picture is quite clear. Even using the night mode, I can still see things relatively well. It's a good investment for the price for sure.
