  • Perfect size for my animals
Color: Grey
I got this hutch for my bantam chickens. It was the perfect size and a cute set up. It was easy to put together. The material of the wood is pretty good and it's been very durable. Since it rains a bunch here, I sprayed it with flex seal which makes it easy to clean. I just spray it down with the hose. The wire is a good size so predators can't get it. My chickens have laid eggs in the nest box, and they seem to like their little house. ... show more

  • Small but effective for one chicken's "broody jail"
Color: Grey
We have some semi-feral chickens that get broody easily (want to nest and hatch their eggs). But sometimes we can't find their nest to remove the eggs and break their broodiness. So we bought this to serve as "broody jail" and keep the hen away from her nest for three to four nights. We successfully used this jail / hotel for three different hens. We also use it as a playhouse for the chickens with food in the upper house as a reward (see picture). Probably only bantam and feral chickens will fit through the upper door (2-3 pounds weight). Negatives: Strong wood smell even after being outside for weeks. UPDATE: the smell went away after a month or so. UPDATED: No roost, but we figured out how to make our own with multiple sticks and binder clips (see pic). One stick is unstable and keeps spinning, but use 2-3 and use a binder clip or clothespins to anchor the sticks together, and our chickens are content roosting and sitting on the sticks. Pretty small for a permanent chicken coop unless it's used only for sleeping. Positives: Convenient design with an open bottom so we place the house on our patio and use a hose to rinse off poop whenever the chicken goes upstairs to eat. The enclosed upstairs house has an easy access door for us to change our water and add food. Most chickens end up sleeping there instead of the roost since it's dark and blocks out our kitchen light that we use at night. UPDATE: after 9 months, cage is still great condition even after hosing on a daily basis to clean and air drying. Some of the white wood is stained from poop even after scrubbing with a brush with simple green, but still all functional. ... show more

  • Make sure to have a few small cuts of wood to help keep the tray held up
Color: Grey
Like everything there are pros and cons to something and I will start with the main good things: GOOD THINGS TO KNOW: easy to build (some bads to building but still easy), the "bunny room" is nice and cozy looking, the roof is where that weight comes from and is sturdy, all parts were there (some issues but not god awful), most important need to know, BUN BUN SEEMS TO LIKE IT!! BAD THINGS ABOUT IT: to start it off, the tray does not have true sturdyness to it, I will be going in tomorrow to fix it up and secure it so my anxiety doesn't get to me, there were plenty of "pre-drill" holes missing resulting in freehand drilling them in (not terrible but then again had the wood split then I would have wasted money) while the directions were simple it was a bit tricky with some bits where they didn't specify the "tall" side face a certain way, I was stuck for 10 minutes (not terrible but sucks) the ladder is a little to steep for my bunny but he is adjusting to it and I will be making my own custom ladder for him. I personally recommend securing the tray with a small cut of wood to slide in the one corner, and anyone who reads this the taller side of the weird shape side is on the side of the big door (front end) Overall my bun is happy I'm happy and will be working on some DIY adjustments to make it better suitable for outdoors :) not 158 after tax worth it but still happy to have it as he needed it asap ... show more

  • Easy to put together
Color: Grey
We have one chicken who was injured years ago and needs her own space so the others don’t peck her. Bought this to replace her other enclosure. It was easy to put together and she has plenty of room. I wouldn’t recommend more than one chicken unless you clean it often. It’s lightweight so we mounted it hanging off the side of our current chicken coop on a little platform. The paint finish is cheap as expected so in the spring we will paint it with better quality paint. It came with extra screws and all the panels and bags of screws are marked. ... show more

  • Awful
Color: Grey
I just received this cage today and I wrote a reply on how bad it smelled. I mentioned that it smelt like resin which is a toxic substance. It did not smell like wood at all. I mentioned that I was going to bring it outside to air out and hopefully get the smell out but when I went to bring it out and I saw that one of the pieces were damaged so then I inspected the rest of the pieces. Then I realized that there are areas where it’s glued and that makes me think that it was glued with epoxy (resin) as that’s what it smelt like. Because it’s damaged and I think the seller used Apoxsee I am not going to put my bunny in here I do not trust it I don’t want to risk anything I am just going to return it. Do not buy this. negatives about this cage: The paint does not look like it’s evenly covered, it looks like it has maybe one layer of paint I received a damaged piece It smells really bad not like wood at all I received this order even though I canceled it and received my money back but then got my money taken away again I purchased this cage for one of my bunnies but then sadly my bunny passed away before I received this cage so I decided to cancel my order. The transaction looked like it went well, the next day I saw in my bank that I received my money back so I went on with my life. Then today I find out that money was taken out of my bank and I was so confused because I did not make any other purchases. I went on Amazon to see if I accidentally bought some thing and I saw that this is arriving today. So I clicked on this to see what’s going on As my order was canceled and I received my money back. I assumed that maybe it was a glitch or maybe the transaction didn’t go through as I requested it twice maybe three times so I decided I might as well just give it a try as I have another bunny but I hate it I hate this cage it smells I’m pretty sure they used Epoxy. ... show more
