We got this to use on the door leading to our attached garage. Keeping the litter box out there helps control odor from coming in the house. This 4-way locking cat door works exactly as expected. The different lock options are really convenient and make it easy to control when my cat can go in or out. If our garage door is up, I lock so the cat cannot get out. It opens and closes smoothly, feels sturdy, and was pretty easy to install. My cat learned to use it quickly, and it’s made life much easier. Great quality for the price and very practical for any cat owner.

This cat door works grt8. I use it a little differently than most folks. I have a cat box covered in carpet that sits right under the window at window height. On the out side I have a larger cat castle that one of the levels happens to be at the perfect height to step threw the window from the other side. I have some Styrofoam from a cabinet purchase. Thick pieces and I secure the cat door in the middle of the Styrofoam and secure with white duck tape and a thin piece of laminate across the top and bottom so it fits into my partially open window to the Lanai. This way that cats can go in and out when ever they choose for water, food, litter box and stay out side securely all day. I do take out at night as we have large critter here in SWFL that might look at the cats in a lanai as a snack. This window keeps the wind and air exchange to a minimum and the cats are perfectly fine with it. Been doing this for several years and the old one finally gave up the ghost. This door is used dozens and dozens of times a day. Good quality and fair price.

My cats go through our dog door flaps fine (there is no magnet), but they are not strong enough to push the cat door flap open.
