I’m very pleased with these carpet treads for my stairs. I got them so my Yorkie puppy wouldn’t slip on stair descent. He is doing really well with them. His descent is stable, no slipping. And they are giving me better traction too. They lay pretty flat. A couple of them have a negligible bit of rise in the center and at one of the corners. That’s because they are folded in half in the packaging, and I waited a few weeks before unpacking. I highly recommend unpacking and straightening them right away. Maybe put a heavy box or books on the middle so they flatten well. The product also comes with backing tape which would help with those gaps, but I haven’t felt like I needed that yet. The functionality is fine. The entire back is adhesive and it holds well. No slippage or movement whatsoever. I wiped the wooden stairs with a vinegar-water solution first and let it dry before applying the treads. They are simple to install. I asked a friend to help me and found it was an easier job with two people. One person could do it but two is much easier—one to place the tread, the other to pull the backing. I like the light color against my darker stairs. Helps my puppy see his paw placement better for his stair descent. The product is available in many different colors. They are comfortable to walk on. I can feel the padding under my feet. The price was great and they are serving the main purpose of safety for my puppy, and for me too. I’ll feel better when guests come by as well. ... show more

These are total game changers! Unbelievably easy to install — clean the stairs, peel off the clear backing, and stick to the stairs. The adhesive is great — it’s enough to hold it in place but it is light enough that it doesn’t seem that it would hurt the wood at all once removed or repositioned. It even comes with extra tape should you find the adhesive isn’t enough. We find it perfect! They look great and already dull the sound the kids make as they go up and down on our old staircase. Nice carpets for stairs. Color was great. Adhesive on back was pretty good, but did use some of the included tape. Easy to install. Got these for our uncarpeted stairs that lead to the basement floor and backyard because our dog kept slipping on the hard floor and was scared to go down unprompted. They look good, stay secure and lay flat on the floor without sticking up or curling and the color goes well with the rest of the floors. We’ve had them for months now without issue and my dog has no problem going down the stairs on her own anymore. We only had a few stairs to cover so I have plenty extra tucked away in case they do start to curl or wear over time but so far we’ve had no issues and have gotten compliments. Very easy to install and uninstall to rearrange as necessary. I was worried that they wouldn’t stick as well after peeled up but so far they have maintained their stickiness when needed while not damaging the floor underneath. Great value for the price. I love these so much! We have kitties who are getting a little older, and I bought these primarily to protect them from sliding when going up and down the stairs. Little did I know, my family members needed them just as much! Literally everyone in the house feels safer now, and on top of that, they look great and feel really pleasant under foot. The house looks much better... I think we added value to the house with these little things. These are truly a wonderful product for the cost. I will say this, we previously bought a version of these in light grey about a year ago. They are still going strong although those began to lose some of the visible pattern 2-3 months ago due to constant use. They are now on a staircase that isn't used much and didn't have treads before. I hope that the navy version holds the pattern a bit better, but if they don't, it won't be as much of an issue because the navy are so dark you can't really see the pattern much anyway. I just thought it was fair to mention that because if you use the staircase you intend to put these on multiple times a day, the pattern is likely to wear down over time. However, they are also $40, and for my money, I would rather purchase these because ones that are 3-4 times more don't last any longer. ... show more
