As you can see from the partially ground welds, the craftsmanship is not perfect, but the welds penetrate well and are sturdy. The black coating will break off, so be careful not to beat them up too much when installing. I love that the predrilled holes that are across from each other are offset so that screws don’t run into each other! With these brackets and some corner brackets, it makes it super easy to build a large pergola. Just make sure that your footings are set square and level, get a friend and some lumber, and screw the thing together. There’s not much carpentry skill required. They come at a pretty good price point. I’d order them again!

The brackets are powder coated and work great however the screws are not. The screws are garbage and not for outdoor applications. You will need to go to the hardware store and buy a bunch of galvanized screws otherwise they will rust out - fast! Mine already have rust and it hasn’t been a week. I tried to contact seller but not reply. It is also very important that the legs be placed cement , lag bolted to wood deck supports or bolted to concrete patio with concrete bushings. Otherwise it will not be sturdy and will fall apart. You will also need a power planer. Depending on your lumber supplier some 4x4 may not fit- need to plane down some. A power planer makes easy work of that!! Great idea - but needs better bolts and screws.

The metal with the slightest bend or shift won't fit a 4x4. I had to shave down the 4x4s a quarter inch on each side to get them to fit.

Cheap garbage. The bottom and the top are cheaply welded! Broke after a 6 mile a hour windstorm. Lol. Maybe a wind. Don't get!
