This gazebo is really well made, heavy duty, and GORGEOUS! The panels of fabric are very heavy for outdoor use, and the roofing blocks the UV rays well, while still letting the light through. We added a ceiling fan and lights to the inside, which really made it complete. I will caution that if you're going to use a full size fan, you'll need a spacer, and you'll have to mount the fan to the inside with additional hardware. The U bracket might be good to hang a small light or fan, but not an installed ceiling fan. You'll need the spacer so it can hang low enough to it won't hit the ceiling panels. The only complaint is not the fault of the company in any way. We have discovered that earwigs love to hang out inside the small openings in the ceiling panels. Every now and then, we need to knock them out of there. I'm a bit concerned that the hangers for the side panels are made of plastic instead of metal, so I hope they hold up over time and don't become fragile and break. Time will tell. The total build completion time, with the additional ceiling fan, took us about 11 hours between 3 people working on it. Overall, a wonderful product, well worth every penny!

ROOF LEAKS! I was hesitant about leaving a poor review because it has nothing to do with the seller and is more for the manufacturer. The roof panels are assembled by sliding each panel into a tracking system, they fit somewhat snug but not tight enough to consider it "sealed". When water lands on the roof it trickles down into the track slots inbetween the track and panel causing the roof to leak. I actually took my entire tent back down and started over thinking maybe I did something wrong. No, that wasnt the case! It still leaks!. The only way to avoid water from getting into the tracks is to seal in between each track slot and the panel. This should be disclosed as part of setup, and sealant should be included. I'm now going to have to take apart the roof once again so i can caulk or seal each panel in place to ensure there is no gaps for water to enter. Thats after I find what sealant is compatible for the panels. Wish I would've known this before! My poker table, TV and all my cloth foldable chairs got soaked. I learned the hard way. In light rain it did ok, i didnt notice it leaking but heavy rain was a whole different ball game!!

I'm very happy overall. I did the assembly by myself and it wasn't too hard. I had a tall ladder whose paint bucket shelf was almost exactly the same height as the cross beams, so I was able to prop the beam up on one side while attaching it to the other. I also have a work platform like the one in the attached photo which was very helpful during assembly. If I was thinking clearly ahead of time, I would have put a few 2"x8" boards across some ladders to make a nice ersatz scaffold. I had a large outdoor carpet to lay the parts out. That was a good idea. One of the cross beams got scratched a bit when I assembled it on the concrete patio, but I was able to put that one in the back where no one will see it. It is worth getting a hex key socket set and using real tools instead of the included tools. The pointy corners on the largest bits roof panels came a little crushed. but I was able to straighten them no problem. I also purchased a ceiling fan - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HFKVLXW/ - which I installed as soon as the center of the roof was in place. It helped a lot. I had several 60ΒΊ days, then two 90ΒΊ days when I dd the assembly, then 60ΒΊ days after. My only complaint is that the there is no way to tie back the screen or the shade on just one side of a leg. It is either both sides or nothing. I need to improvise something to fix that.

We finally found time to set up this pergola a month later, purchased the end of May. We have yet to truly use and enjoy it due to our extreme heat wave (101-113 in Spokane, WA) but we are very happy with the final product now that it is built. Be sure to allow yourself time, definitely examine the instructions, and lay out the parts, and check each page before assembling.....follow the best you can and review if unclear. You have read in previous posts and I will concur, you have a diagram page to follow, NOT WELL WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS. First, we laid all the pieces and parts out in alphabetical order keeping in mind, right and left sides. We had one manufacturing issue. Two 6mm nuts were missing from the end of one of the four main roof support beams, the other three were fine. Hubby was able to fix the issue without us having to call customer support. **Be watchful after placement and securing of the top, external brackets that need to be placed before moving forward with panels (see marked yellow picture). We unfortunately missed this step and didn't realize until we thought we were done. I said leave it but my over achiever brother had a challenge and would not be defeated. He has long skinny monkey arms that fit through the opening between the top and panels. He unscrewed and added each of the brackets. It does finish off the ends nicely and secures the panels and brackets tightly (no one would have known otherwise). Note: Using power with a 5-metrix hex (standard Allen Wrench) chucked up works very well!!! Also, keep the panels in a cool place until you are ready to remove the films (too hot, the film melted and was very difficult to remove). Once cooled, I removed the inside panel film and left the reflective sun side on for directional placement to help speed up the install process. I was fortunate to have my brother on hand, who has put together several of these DIY pergola projects. DO NOT have too many foremen on the job site (how our error occurred) and be sure to have plenty of food and water then finished beverages on hand! We purchased the 12'x16' pergola and are happy with the size, fits our deck well, and is definitely sturdy. I am not generally fond of curtains and not sure about these (personal preference). They are quite heavy and thick; perhaps nice during inclement weather but I prefer open sides, I am debating on the mesh drape still. We are happy with our purchase, glad it is assembled, aesthetically pleasing (quite beautiful) and ready to enjoy with family and friends.
