    • Lots of power and long lasting on a charge

Review Image by JoeD
I purchased the EGO 18" chain saw, based on the high quality of an EGO pole saw I'd purchased. It was intended for liming and clearing saplings, but now I use it for just about all tree line clearing. It is a powerful as my similarly sized gas chainsaw and routinely is used to fell 12"-14" diameter trees. This morning I cut down four trees of the size pictured, limbed them and cut them to firewood length without switching batteries or charging. And that is with only a 2.8 amp battery shared with the pole saw. The saw is relatively quiet in operation and it is so nice to not have to tug on a recoil starter and the EGO is clean running. The saw has a high and low speed selector. Either is very fast cutting. Very happy with the purchase. ... show more

    • Plenty of Power!

I was so surprised how much power this thing has, awesome! I've cut down a dozen trees on my property. haven't had to change or sharpen the chain. Great product

    • Happy so far.
Style: 18" (No Battery/Charger)
It is a great product. I got the 18" and I'm using it with the battery that came with my EGO blower (4 ah). I also have an EGO string trimmer. Back to the saw. I started out using it to clear brush which is about the worst thing you can do to a saw . The chain did come off a few times but after the first time I was able to quickly put it back on (the first time took a minute or two - learning curve). I've had issues with chains coming off with gas saws when brush clearing and this was par for the course. Man does it have power. I was cutting at low speed and it ran right through 2" to 6" oak saplings. I learned from a Utube video that it accepts blades from gas saws and while replacing the chain I noted the simularities with a gas saw blade. The blade is reversible. I like the fact that the blade can be removed without a tool and the chain tensioner works well. So far I'm happy, happy, happy. Of course, the day will come when the battery runs down right in the middle of a job. I guess then I'll consider buying a second battery. But not until then. ... show more

    • Worth every penny
Style: 18" (No Battery/Charger)
Wow! So easy to use and cuts like no other. Easier tho since you ain't pulling on anything. You just hit the button. I have had the battery fall out a few times but I put something around it to keep it in. Either way it is worth every penny. Period!

    • Everything EGO
Style: 18" (No Battery/Charger)
Is awesome. I gave all of my Stihl gas powered equipment to my daughter a while ago. EGO equipment is incredible. Easy to use. Well built. Great battery life. The only negative is that the battery is heavy but, not enough to avoid the equipment. Look for sales though. I overpaid on Amazon.
