We installed 3 of these, the motion detection isn't the best, but I haven't attempted to check if there is anything I can do for that. They work well enough and I hope they help with energy efficiency. The cats set them off frequently though.

I put these in the garage so the lights would kick on automatically. These take longer to sense motion than I would like. I can get 5+ steps in to the garage before they turn on at times. Not consistent at all. One works way better than the other.

    • They work, but are really short timed
Even on the maximum setting, it's under 1 minute that they turn on, but for my use, they're fine. I have them staggered between my shop and the house, so as I walk from one to the next, they illuminate the way long enough for me to walk through - they'd be annoying in a room as main light source, though. Also, due to the three supports, the sensor is a little obscured, so they sometimes miss motion (adjusting them to make the 'blindspots' where you can live with them resolved this for me). ... show more

    • Could use a better range of motion or better motion detection
These aren’t bad but aren’t great. I have them installed in closets that my family always forgets to turn the lights off in those closets. The complaint has been that if you need the light to come on again you have to step back away from the light because it doesn’t pick up motion if you are too close to being near it or right under it. It’ll come in when the closet door is opened, but if your looking in the closet for a minute or two you may have to step back away from under where the light is installed in the ceiling to get the light to come back on once it turns off. Also expect to need a flat head screw driver, coin or long nails to turn the knobs to adjust the setting in these because they aren’t easy to just turn by hand. They are flat against the other plastic with a notch in them ... show more
