A few of the threads were coming unraveled rather quickly. Aside from that I was able to use with a few ingredients I did not want in the final rack so it was nice to just pull and forget instead of straining and filtering. I was able to run a needle around the places that came unraveled so that was fine for me.

I used 12 pounds of grain in 1 of these and it held up well. Good for the price and mesh is tight. Seams are solid too.

These are fantastic! I'm ashamed to admit that I have previously used pantyhose as my straining mesh and just prayed I wouldn't get any runs in the hose. I have also used metal strainers and avoided them because they are so difficult to clean – hence the resorting to pantyhose that I would just throw away. Cheesecloth just doesn't work very well and is a class of messiness of its own. These are large enough for racking a full 5-gallon carboy into one stockpot. The drawstring works well to hold it in place while pouring. The best thing about these is that they strain beautifully and clean so easily Turning this inside out and rinsing it is as easy as can be, and hand washing it takes seconds to do. I am only sorry I did not have these for jam season, but I'm glad I will have them next spring and will not want to rack another batch of melomel without this. I highly recommend these.

While these are probably great for home brewing, I actually used these to help make some homemade grape jelly from homegrown grapes. These drawstring straining bags did a great job helping me strain the cooked grapes and contain all of the grape skin and seeds. These clean up so well after the job is done and can be reused again. Handwashing does the job easily enough. These are keepers, and I am sorry I did not discover these years ago! Pricing is fair, and even better if you get them on sale!

UPDATE: I used one bag, it worked beautifully. Just one pass through. And afterward, the sorrel washed right out! Sorrel stains everything, and I expected to be reusing a stained bag, but nope. These bags are a keeper for sure. ******************************************** Well…😆…joke’s on me. I honestly did not realise how big these bags are. I saw the pot in the product picture. I saw my two gallons of fermenting sorrel. I saw the wire mesh strainer that strains (yes I went there) every year to deal with said sorrel. And I thought, “Oh this will be good.” The 26” x 22” measurement just never registered. A bit of lining and I could easily use one of these bags as a carry-on and not worry if I had to overnight unexpectedly. 😄 But it is good. Never mind that I won’t use half of this bag. I’m going to wash them in some warm soapy water, hang them out to dry; and then I’ll do my one straining and will be done. I’ll even get in a squeeze or two to extract all the juice from the pulp, without having to worry about breaking the strainer. My sorrel and spice mix won’t make it through this mesh so I’m a happy camper.

Quality is good. We'll see how long they last. Size is good to fit homebrew picobrew machines (smaller version). haven't tried it on my "Z" unit. So much for the beer brewing. LOL It works great for straining home-made yogurt to create 'greek' yogurt. Good size for my one gallon (milk) instant pot yogurt batches. We make a gallon batch once every other week. This is a great improvement to my existing less-than-one-quart commercial yogurt strainers - saves lots of time and hassles when making larger batches. Put freshly-made yogurt in bag, then either suspend or just place in a large colander for support, hang over bowl to collect dripping whey. I've already put these to use for beer and yogurt making and they do the job. Recommended.

I'm very happy with these straining bags. They are huge, and the mesh is not too fine. They are perfect for making soy milk if you like it a bit on the thick side. If you have a nut bag with a very fine mesh, you end up having to squeeze the heck out of it. My arthritic hands are no good for that anymore. With this bag, I can simply hang it up and wait a little while for the milk to strain through, and then I just have to give it a little squeeze at the end to get the very last bits of liquid out. This is a much more civilized way of soy milk making.
