This kit was easy to do and I really love he flavor of it. I usually like to mix it up and brew different kinds but really might do this one again. My only advice would be measure out the sugar. They give you more than you need. I was afraid to use too little because when beer is undercarbonated it goes in the trash but overcarbonated just means slightly more head. I used all the sugar (which the directions tell you not to do) and it is a bit overcarbonated. ... show more

    • High quality brew kit.
Everything to brew five gallons of excellent IPA in a convenient package. If you don't have a good brew store in town, this is the next best thing. Big tip for better results: Let it age before drinking, the longer, the better. A month in a carboy followed by three months in the bottle.

I've used these products from Brewers Best and have had no problems. This go around I was brewing a couple different batches and when It came time to start this one, I noticed that I was shortchanged a 1 oz packaged of Chinook Hops. The kit should have had 2 1oz packages, or 1 2oz package. It came with 1 1oz. I didn't have any Chinook in my personal stash, so I ended up using additional Cascade hops which I had on hand. This will undoubtedly change the flavor and overall balance. Make sure you check the box early enough you can either return the product for a complete kit, or at a minimum, obtain what is missing locally before you begin to brew. ... show more

I ordered this for my grandfather for Christmas. He loved how easy it was. It was his first time brewing so it was perfect for beginners. He loved the flavor. And the ingredients appeared to be high quality.

This was my first batch. I got this to do a test run before I went into a local shop with a recipe. This kit provided a great listing of instructions with plenty of details. The set of instructions offered suggestions for various brewing styles. The ease of use was great and came with everything you need.     • Wrong Ingredients in the kit
I ordered the BB Classic IPA and brewed it a few weeks ago. Right after flame out I noticed that it was way darker than it should be but I let it ferment for 2 weeks. After testing the gravity a few times the color was too dark for an IPA and the flavor/smell was malty. I believe that I received the right box with some of the the wrong ingredients, mainly the liquid malt. This is a brown ale and way too malty for my tastes. This is a great price for a great product. Another reviewer suggested adding more hops which I did as I like hoppy. It is debatable whether it is needed or not depending on your personal taste. Overall great kit. About to buy another.
