  • Great All-in-One Tank!
Set name: Battery-Free Temp Aquarium Kit
I’ve set up a few aquariums over the years, and this all-in-one tank has impressed me so far. It arrived very well packaged, and everything was protected properly during shipping. No scratches, cracks, or loose components. I really like the curved edges, as they give it a clean, modern look. It also improves the viewing experience compared to standard sharp-cornered tanks. It looks sleek without being overcomplicated. What really stood out to me is the heater placement. It’s positioned in an area with consistent water flow, which helps maintain a more uniform tank temperature and prevents hot spots. The filtration system is also well laid out and surprisingly quiet. I can barely hear it running. I appreciate that there’s a dedicated space for bio media, which allows beneficial bacteria to establish properly and supports a healthy nitrogen cycle. It doesn’t feel like the filtration was an afterthought. The lighting is bright and enough for this size of tank. It should work well for low- to moderate-light plants. Another feature I really like is the bottom drain. That’s a big plus if you ever need to fully drain the tank for maintenance or a reset. Overall, this feels like a well-designed tank that balances aesthetics and functionality. I’m currently in the process of cycling the tank and plan to do a follow-up review once it’s fully established long-term. So far, though, I’m very happy with it and think it’s a great buy for the price. TL;DR Pros: - Very well packaged - Modern design - Smart heater placement for even temperature - Quiet filtration with space for bio media Cons: - None observed so far (will update after longer-term use) ... show more

  • Easy Setup, Cheap Thermometer
Tank setup was fairly easy. Light settings all work very well. The only issue was the thermometer. It filled with water, came loose internally, and can no longer be properly read.

  • Great for Inverts! (Too small for fish)
Honestly pretty impressed with this little tank. It’s only 3.5 gallons, so not actually big enough for any fish (especially as the swimming space is even smaller than the), but it IS a great invert tank! I needed something to culture black worms in for my community tank, and I didn’t want to just use a bucket, so I decided to use this. I added some Malaysian trumpet snails and bladder snails, and will be adding some neocardinia shrimp in a few weeks. The light is adjustable so it’s quite versatile, although I’m unsure how well the spectrum will grow plants yet. I really just have easy, low light plants in the tank though, and added catappa leaves to give it a blackwater/swamp look, so it should be ok I think. The filtration is slow but the amount of bio media in the back is way overkill for this size of tank, so I’m pretty happy about it! It’s not much to look at yet since I started with a small starter culture of works and three bladder snails, but I’m very pleased with the aesthetic! The pump was noisy for the first hour, but once it had been running a bit it quieted down nicely! The lid isn’t amazing, but it works and keeps my cats out, and I got this because it was reasonably priced for what I wanted, so it was worth it imo :) ... show more

  • Great filtration system
Set name: Battery-Free Temp Aquarium Kit
I have been keeping aquariums for a very long time so when I was looking for a betta aquarium I chose this tank because the filtration system is more than needed and a nice design. All though there is One flaw in the design, there are 3 rows of intake slats on the right side and the 3rd row is to the bottom of the tank ? To low and would be covered with gravel. Correction was a small rock wall around it preventing substrate from going in. I also do not care for the rounded corners, because the tank is so small seems to distort to much. But overall I am very happy with this set up. ... show more

  • Nice beginner tank
Set name: Battery-Free Temp Aquarium Kit
It’s a plastic tank, I like the back being the filter and the variable pump flow. A little nervous with the rubber stopper in the bottom of the tank but no leaks in the first two weeks. Had to get stones and other accessories but like that it included a heater and the filter medium with the plastic carriers so it can be removed and cleaned easily. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY
DO NOT BUY If I could leave 0 stars I would. I bought my betta fish Christmas 2025 and left it in the tank they gave us at the pet store. Purchased this tank Feb 7, 2026. My betta fish died 8 days after I bought this tank. The tank did not stay clear and has been cloudy since I turned it on. I DO NOT recommend this tank for betta fish. ... show more
