I wasn't expecting a whole lot of this camera, especially for the minimal money I paid for this. But this pan, tilt, and zoom camera is really quite decent. Ok, first, since there really aren't many, let me discuss the negatives: 1) The plastic mount is fairly soft and cheap plastic. And I would only trust it if the camera is sitting upright - not hanging from the plastic. 2) The chord provided is fairly short at less than 30". 3) It doesn't have a slot for memory card, but it will still record for a limited time. 4) The instructions aren't fantastic, but if you're at all tech-savvy, then you'll have no problem setting it up. It took me less than 5 minutes, and most of that was waiting for the app to download. And there's an online installation guide that's free once you download the app (e.g., simple scan). So, that's a very minor quibble. 5) The fixed viewing angle is only about 170°, but will decrease as you zoom in. But the camera pans automatically and upon command from your phone. 6) I did notice that the vertical viewing angle in around 110° - mostly limited during the downward tilt. Just position the unit properly (not too high) or manually angle it down with a wedge. This would be where hanging the the camera (like a bat) might prove helpful. 7) The camera does not have an IR illuminator. That would be nice but I wouldn't expect it at this price point. Now for the positives: 1) This looks and feels like solid construction - it definitely does not feel like a toy. I've had others that felt really cheap and ended up failing after only a few months. 2) The picture quality is very good & clear - not grainy like the cheaper units were. Even in the dark the picture quality is quite visible. (See pics) 3) The pan, tilt, and zoom features are easily controlled, smooth, and have very minimal lagging. But the picture holds its quality throughout (no buffering or pixelating during changes). Of course, some of that will depend upon your WiFi router network. I have my camera in an outside shed, and I'm still impressed by its overall performance. 4) One of the best features is that it tracks movement. And you can adjust the detection sensitivity. Once it senses area activity, you can choose from one or all of the following responses: A) Sound audible alarms locally. B) Send alerts to your phone. C) Allow you to listen into the covered area. D) Speak to anyone in the area. E) Record activity for a selectable amount of time. F) Multiple users can load the app and be given access to your cameras. G) You can easily add multiple cameras to your app. And when I say it's easy, the app does 99.9% of the work for you; it finds the devices and you just choose the ones that it detects. I only have one of these right now, but plan to order another - maybe more. Would I buy this again? Absolutely, yes. In fact, I'm in the process of doing that right now. I plan to buy and add the newest camera to our garage so that we can make sure that we completely closed the garage door. If you've ever had to drive back to make sure the door is actually closed, then you'll know why I think that's so helpful. I'll drop in a couple a screen shots so you can see how clear the picture is under full and low light conditions. Well, I hope my take on this camera helps you with your own buying decision.

Every thing I was looking for to monitor my miniature schnauzer when I’m out of my apartment. Initial setup was very easy, using the app. The motion detection feature works great, following my small dog’s movement perfectly. Proper calibration for the motion detection was simple once I determined the optimal positioning of the camera. The color of the camera (black) makes it very stealthy. I’ve chosen to install a 32 gigabit SD card in the camera, rather than subscribing to the cloud based recoding, and it’s working very nicely. Ease of use, ability to store recoded videos and very good motion detection leads me towards recommending this clever, inexpensive video camera

These cameras are excellent, especially for the price. I bought them to monitor my elderly aunt. They are motion activated, so I would get an alert when she woke up or was walking to the bathroom. I could also speak to her through the camera, although this feature is not always crystal clear. You can share access to the cameras (one or all) with other people, so my sisters and I were able to take turns monitoring. You can watch live any time, or you can view 10 second recordings when motion trips it on. You can save recordings, record live segments, and share them with others. You can even take pictures and save/share them. You can purchase a plan for more saved video, but we never needed it. I also like that you can move them around the house wherever it meets your needs. Highly recommended!
