I have a shower that never gets used; it is in the master bedroom are of a home that I inherited. It was a conversion from a tub to a stand up shower sometime in the past. When it was in use it had an recurring issue of backing up. I had tried a manual auger many times with no luck. Finally tired of off and on playing with it, I came across this unit and thought, "What do I really have to lose" . God knows what a plumber would charge these days. Anyway, I charged the battery to full (~ 30 minutes), ran it back and forth before trying it in the drain to be certain how it worked, and fired it into the shower drain. It effortlessly passed down the p/j-trap, and continued about ten feet, where I felt a small bind. Then amazingly, the line drained, and boom! Like new. Put the clutch into reverse, and brought it back in. Followed up with a few gallons of almost boiling hot water, and it is flowing perfectly. The clutch is very strong on this, and allows for a forward, disengaged, and reverse mode. If you need to you can quickly move from forward to reverse over and over to make sure the clog is gone. One of the better devices I have purchased on Amazon, and a great price to boot! ... show more

I liked the way it worked had to extend snake several times retract partially and extend out has good power for a battery but electrical (plug in 120V to clarify )of course is more powerful I’m updating this I suggest not to buy. It broke and I have not been contacted to replace damaged part Unfortunately it the snake broke off about four and a half feet had to pull out broken portion by hand. I’ve never had a snake break before in all my years of use of various ones. Obviously I pulled out snake by hand and yes never had one break before so obviously it was defective in some manor ... show more

This tool worked well for unclogging my kitchen sink. I took the trap off and snaked through the line from there. This is a huge improvement over the snakes that attach to a drill and makes the job SO much easier. I can understand other reviewers wanting a longer line, but I knew my sink was only about 25 ft from my septic tank so I went for it. I do wish the auger head was a little bigger, or could be changed out, but I'll figure out something for that. Overall, this made the job much easier and saved my back some stress from standing on my head under the sink trying to work a regular snake into the drain. Five stars for me! ... show more

We had a toilet blockage at the end of February. We tried the plunger and even the compressed gas clog remover several times and it did nothing. I had to pay a plumber about $375 to snake it! I then went on Amazon the next day and purchased this and left it sitting in the basement. We got another similar clog today (4/10/23). I read the instructions, got it out and it cleared it in 2 minutes, just like the professional plumber did! It's a great feeling knowing I saved hundreds of dollars by making this purchase and I don't have to wait for a plumber to arrive on his time and pay out of the nose for the privilege! Was skeptical at first to buy this but after looking at a slow draining sink for a while and not wanting to pull the plumbing apart underneath I bought it. Received it and put battery on charge. Took initially 2 hrs to charge. Hooked battery up to snake and went to work. If you have ever had to use one of the hand drill attachment snakes or a large hand crank one, you will definitely appreciate this unit. The forward lever , when pushed into forward position actually pays out the snake as its spinning while holding it from inadvertently wrapping up. Now you still have to be careful of binding but it pays out seamlessly. Once obstruction cleared, pulled back on lever, reversed direction on unit, and retracted snake as I ran hot water down drin essentially cleaning the snake off as it spooled back in. Couldn't have been happier. Well worth the money even if it only works 3-4 times but hope it lasts longer than that. ... show more

Our toilet was kinda flushing but not really for the past two weeks. We must have plunged it 30 times. With the right plunging I was able to get it to go. But something was blocking obviously. I used this auger once. It bound up once in the very begining. Toilets have a lot of twists and turns but thos is the first auger cable I have ever been able to get through the toilet. I dispensed the entire cable and stared to retract. This thing pulled a pencil out of the tube. As I was recoiling the pencil just came along with the threads of the cable. The darn thing flushes now! I know now that it was not really a traditional clog but we can't deny that it snaked through the toilet which was a feat in itself. Note when using on a toilet, you will get some metal from the cable rubbed off and leave a mark. I think that this can be buffed with a Mr Clean pad, but honestly I was about to buy a new toilet so I can't complain. If the length is sufficient, you should be able to clear any clog. ... show more
