It's much sturdier than it looks. Snaked 4 drains with no issue. Still looks like new. It's very easy to use. I found reeling it in & out by hand much faster than locking it and rotating the handle. Using a drill made it clumsy and really requires a second person to help. It's definitely not professional grade, but will provide a homeowner a lifetime of use. It's well worth the price and pays for itself in the first use.

I chose this tool based off reviews and that it looked very well made. It is very well made. I spent 20-30 min trying to unclog the drain on my bathtub cranking it by hand. I got no where. I attached my cordless drill and took less than 5 minutes to clear the drain line. The tub drains like new. Great tool, but skip the hand cranking part and just use a cordless drill with it. Save yourself the physical effort and in my case, the blister on my hand.

Terrible experience with this product. First, the lock and unlock mechanism on the handle does not function properly and slips from the locked or unlocked position. Second and most importantly, when the cable is extended into the pipe, it will not retract meaning you have to manually push the cable back into the housing, an action which in itself is not possible because the cable is not winding around the drum but just occupying available space inside the housing. I would not recommend purchasing this device at all.

For my use this worked great. Much better built than other economy snakes I've used. Never kinked even with a drill. If I get 10 uses out of it I would be happy but I predict I will get more.

The drain snake does work as advertised. Advances easily into drain as you turn or provide power. Snake does not retract fully into unit without forcing its retraction by hand. The requirement that the snake must be clean, dry and lubed to prevent rust before retracting is at best a dirty pain. Update 2/3/26 The seller reached out to me unsolicited. He has completely resolved the issue beyond any expectations I had. I would without a doubt deal with this seller again.

After two days of fighting a stubborn clog with drain cleaner, I bought this and cleared up the drain and the mess in less than an hour. Worked perfectly! The drain cleaner I had to purchase just went to waste and cost more than the auger. No more nasty chemicals if I can avoid it! Thanks!!!
