So I don’t write reviews. Ever. This time I had to write one. My bathroom sink has always drained really slow but over the last month or two it’s gotten ridiculously slow where I can’t finish brushing my teeth withouta pool of water already sitting. I bought drano and followed those instructions. After letting it sit for 30 minutes and pouring 2 liters of boiling water into the drain, the water sat in my sick, not moving. I checked in an hour and it went down slightly but all of it remained until the next morning when all the water had drained. I poured liters of boiling water into the sink throughout the next day but same thing. It would just sit for a while until it drained. I came on Amazon and found this product. I thought what the heck, it’s cheap, let me try it out. I received the product and poured another liter of boiling water along with a cup of dawn down the drain to see if it loosened things up. I attached it to my drill and went for it. At first it wouldn’t go past the trap. I stopped drilling, and pushed it through in order for it to bend and get past the trap. I drilled and pulled out maybe 3-4 times without catching anything. I’ve read other reviews where the product has gotten tangled in the drain so I was very cautious. I tried again and it caught on to something. I continued to drill and pulled up slowly at the same time. When it was almost out I stopped drilling. The picture shows what I pulled out. It looks like a turd! I have no idea what that is, other than maybe hair. It was easy to get off and clean. I turned the water on and it flows beautifully now. Best money I’ve ever spent!

I bought this because I love our sink, tub and shower shrooms. They work brilliantly. This product? Nope. First, this product is 5” shorter than advertised. When we buy a tape measure that says 9 feet long, the actual usable length is 9’. Any part that’s inside the unit to secure it is not included in the advertised length. That’s what this company should have done when they advertised a 42” long snake. But they didn’t. 5” of the length is inside the handle and thus completely not usable. That’s why the actual usable length is 37”. Secondly, everything I’ve read for any drain snake that’s attached to a drill says we should have maximum 4” of exposed snake where it enters the drain. If it’s longer, the snake kinks and twists from drill rotation. Since this snake is fully exposed and not inside a drum,, it’s impossible to get to the advised minimum unless we are able to insert the snake manually until we have only 4” exposed. Finally, the tip is so small and has no “auger” head. It’s actually a bit narrower than the snake. So this unit could push a hole in the clog instead of breaking it down with an auger head. I suggest the company: either add 5” to make functional length 42” as advertised, or change advertised length to 37; retool unit to add an auger head that’s in every other effective drain snake I’ve ever used. Why? It’s the rotation of that auger head that breaks up the clog.

Live in the country and get my water from a water well 380 feet deep, water is good but it's hard water. Get deposits inside the hot water copper pipes near joints, this device sliced right through them, opening up the kitchen and washer pipes to full pressure when both were not even a trickle. Massive blockages in both, washer clog was 3 foot deep. All you need is a drill, this device saved me a fortune, cheapest estimate from a plumber was $200.

The front of the packaging seems to show a much longer length than in reality, all coiled up. The graphics and videos for this product seem to alternate between 2 different ends: a spiral wire and a plastic end. This product's graphics are so poorly done that you create false expectations of your product. I thought the head of the Drainshroom had the wire end and that the plastic end could fit onto the wire end somehow. I've been buying Tubshroom products since they launched on Kickstarter! I've bought Tubshrooms, Ultra Sinkshrooms, Kitchen Sinkshrooms, and Showershrooms. ALL of them have been exactly what the marketing and packaging claimed to be. This is such an awful job of marketing that I'm really, really disappointed with The Shroom Company. This is shoddy work from them. Onto the product itself. The handle is on so tightly that it is actually hard to pull off, and if you didn't know any better, it is definitely not apparent you can do this at all! The plastic tip's barbs are nowhere near as sharp or defined as they look. I don't know if the plastic molds need to be replaced or if the plastic tip was photoshopped to make it look better than what the factory is rolling out. I do like the bag that it comes with; that is a nice touch, but it does not make up for how terrible the graphics and instructions are. It's flat-out dishonest marketing, and I'm blown away; this has never been an issue with this company before. I don't know if there was a change in ownership or if you have mixed up graphics from an earlier version and didn't bother to update all of the marketing material, but you've lost my trust in the accuracy of your marketing.
