One of our showers' drain had been slowing, and it got to the point where it was just backed up. Wife couldn't shower because of it. We tried some Green Goblin liquid to try to break up the clog but it didn't do anything. We didn't want to use anything more toxic so we were to the point of having to book a plumber service call. As a last resort, I found the POPULO on Amazon and did further research. As soon as it arrived, took it upstairs and the battery pack out of the box was charged enough to drive the 25' snake into the drain. It easily retracted back without any forcing or issue. Drove the snake back in and out a couple of more times. Drain completely unclogged. No issues. The device is a great size and intuitive to use. Intuitive and easy! This was a reasonable investment that will pay for itself over and over. When I was finished, I placed into its convenient storage canvas bag and stored it in the garage until needed again. Love this thing! I have clogged my drain three times in the last 12 years or so. I tried the manual 50' snake from the loca hardware store for $40. It was really hard working a basic snake manually, pushing the snake through the bends of the pipes, I gave up after going in only 12' and called a plumber. That was $130. Total spent now is $170. So I decided on the Populu "Electic Draina Auger, 120V AC" motorized snake auger. I chose this over a drill add on because the drill add on seems cumbersome and didn’t have a snake feed feature. The feature of this Populu unit to have a snake feeding feature is awesome, no more dreading to open the U pipe. This thing pushes through so easy after the U pipe, I did nothing but just hold the unit in front the pipe opening and sat on the floor holding this thing. Watch the demo video on the Amazon page, shows going through a clear pipe. I didn't realize it came with a bag on the bottom of the box, as I purchased this after my 2nd clog, then, I just opened the box to see that it powers up and put it in the box and on the shelf to wait for the next incident. So when 3rd clog happened, last week, I saw the bag and actually used this thing. This paid off over hiring a plumber and I didn’t need to wait when the plumber was available. It is a little heavy, made with good, thick plastic housing and it shows that it is well made with a strong motor. To wash the snake after the job was done, I took it to my driveway, had the snake extracted out all the way, and used my water hose with a pressure nozzle to clean off the crap that's on it, especially the snake head. So much easier than the manually turned snakes. This is not a professional grade machine so I don't expect it to last for years but it performed well on my two clogs. Be sure to read and fully understand the instructions before using, took me few reads while looking at the machine to fully get it. Do not try to power through a clog. when you feel it hit something, stop the forward feed and let it spin until it frees up, reverse a little if needed. Keep the feed end of the machine close to the drain/pipe. Once you get the hang of it, it's a breeze. The included rubberized gloves were a welcome addition. Don't ignore the safety glasses warning, you WILL get splashed with sludge at some point. Cleaning was easy. Just took it outside, pulled the snake all the way out and washed it with a bucket of soapy water and a rag, rinsed it with a hose and dried it with a rag while pushing the snake back into the drum. Battery worked well. I was able to unclog two drains with no sign of it slowing down. ... show more

This tool performed exactly the way I had expected. Had a sink drain draining poorly - this tool cleaned out the line with ease and worked as hoped. One caveat to note though is I would not use the plastic gloves provided. When pulling 25' of line from the drain - the gloves got wrapped up a little with cable. You can use a cheap pair of leather gloves which worked fine. I am very happy with this purchase for small drain cleanouts. I did notice that you could use a pvc pipe to assist auger a toilet - I haven't tried but suspect this tool will work fine for small toilet clogs (toilet paper) as well.
