Appears to be a good heavy power transformer. I got this item to boost power to my newly installed Ring doorbell. The original transformer is 60 years old and had lower power than this one. It installed in the doorbell box in my wall without issue. I cut the power at the fuse box, and just swapped wires. Output is as expected. This was a good purchase.

the nodehawk 24V 40VA Doorbell Transformer has been a good upgrade for my Ring Video Doorbell Pro and Nest Thermostat setup. This hardwired transformer delivers a consistent 24V at 40VA, providing ample power for smart doorbells like Ring Pro, as well as smart thermostats (Nest, Sensi). I replaced an underpowered 16V 10VA transformer that caused my Ring doorbell to drop connections, and this nodehawk unit resolved the issue -no more low-power warnings or lag, and my mechanical chime works perfectly. Installation was straightforward, taking about 10 minutes. I turned off the breaker, disconnected the old transformer, and mounted this one to the electrical box using the existing screws. The wiring (hot, neutral, ground for input; two terminals for output) was simple to connect with standard wire. The transformer runs quietly with no buzzing and stays cool, even under load from both my doorbell and thermostat, unlike my old transformer that overheated. A few minor cons: The no-load voltage measured slightly high at 25.7V (using a multimeter), which is within the safe range for Ring devices but worth noting for sensitive electronics. Also, the transformer’s mounting flanges were slightly bent on arrival, though easily straightened without affecting performance. Pls note , there are no safety certifications listed on the box, the instructions or on the device. I was also unable to find a UL listing using their search engine. Overall, it’s a good fit for upgrading old, underpowered systems in homes with video doorbells, just double-check your device’s voltage compatibility and take a photo of your existing wiring before starting!

We've been in our home for a year now. When we bought it, it had a basic doorbell with chime box and transformer located on the opposite side of the house. I had a Nest doorbell but upgraded to a newer model. We could get the doorbell to work, but it would chime inside the house. My fiance did some research and it turned out we needed a higher voltage transmitter. He installed this one and now the doorbell works great - exactly as it should!
