  • Great all-around cleaner, way better performance than I expected!
Background is for 20yrs I've had an in-ground, Gunite, irregular, semi-kidney shaped pool with an 8ft deep end, stairs and ladder. It's enclosed but the screen has had several tears and the last 2 yrs the leaves, pollen, blown grass, pine needles etc. have made cleaning it an ongoing task. Previous pool cleaning has been done by a hose/suction connected ancient robot (gets stuck in the deep end, tangles hose, kinda avg-to-poor cleaning). I've also used a battery powered vacuum wand and that works well for spot cleaning but not so great for what I've been dealing with during FL springtime. Pros: - SUPER easy to use. (turn on, select 'bottom/walls/waterline' mode OR 'those modes + surface') - literally just set it in the water and walk away for a few hours. it WORKS! - can climb walls and clean at the same time - good programming logic, it has never gotten 'stuck' since it can ballast and float if needed. - battery life is very good. I've used it for 5 hrs and it was at ~28% battery life. - SUPER easy to clean, the top pops open, pull out hte filter basket and just rinse it. SO EASY to clean. - having a surface mode is nicer than i expected, this is truly a 'one stop shop' for getting the pool presentable with almost no work - app integration is great, give you an idea of what state the robot is in, charge % and allows you to tailor the cleaning modes, etc. - Quick charging - It has some form of smart logic and ultrasonics for path creation but it doesnt maintain a permanent internal map of your pool and creates it each time. - ability to change its buoyancy is fantastic. it will not get stuck because it can float if needed - when done it parks at the edge and stays there until you pull it out. Cons: - it's not cheap (but I have seen deals where it'll be a few hundred off the 'normal' price and that is a great deal for what this does) - the 'remote control' mode isnt responsive enough, there's lag or delay that makes it more frustrating to use than i expected. - surface mode isnt quite as effective as the underwater modes. it does work, and you may as well use it if you have things like oak pollen but it will only be maybe 85-95% clean when the cycle completes. It does work but this is where a responsive remote control mode would be great to have and hoover up the other floating pieces. Overall: This does a great job of being something you can just drop in the pool and when you come back it's going to look 95% better. Given my previous experience with non-smart pool robots, this greatly exceeded my expectations. In the video I included the robot doing a very challenging 'steps' area where it looks like its getting stuck, but it just takes a minute or two to figure out then corrects itself. Although to be accurate it doesnt clean the steps in teh same way a human would with a pool wand. My wife is a notorious skeptic but even she was convinced when we came back from lunch and the pool was CLEAN! I'm glad I upgraded from the suction powered robot as this is much more effective and an overall better value. ... show more

  • Does It All, But Is It Better Than Last Years Model??? Does It All, But Is It Better Than Last Years Model???
A robotic pool vacuum is definitely a big investment, but it is truly amazing how much time it saves compared to the alternatives! ⏱️ Going totally cord free and hose free is the best tech of the decade for the pool as no more running hoses to the skimmer (previous Great White owner here) or dealing with a power cord that constantly wraps itself around the pool ladder (Previous dolphin owner also here). 🔌🚫 This is my second Beatbot. I upgraded from the Aquasense Pro 2, and I was really looking forward to the Sora 70 mainly for its skimming capabilities. Setting it up only took a few minutes using my existing Beatbot app. 📱 Taking it out of the box, it was packaged really well with no assembly required (just be prepared to peel off about 12 or so anti-scuff labels!). 📦 First impressions: the redesigned basket is a massive improvement. 🙌 It’s slightly larger, way easier to remove and clean, and now features an inner basket that my old one didn't have. It really pulls the debris out. I was almost embarrassed by how bad the water looked, but with all the pollen dropping from the trees down here in Florida, it had engulfed the pool floor and surface. 🌳🍃 This vacuum handled it perfectly and got it looking spic and span in no time! For an in depth comparison with the Aquasense Pro 2: I do feel the older model did a slightly better job on the floor. It was more methodical, going back and forth in straight lines like someone cutting the grass. 🌾 The new Sora 70 tends to wander around the pool a bit more randomly in straight lines. (I have an older 7’ deep rectangular pool with a 3’ shallow end.) I’m hoping a future firmware update tightens up its navigation to make it just as amazing as the Aquasense Pro 2! 🤖 (Note reviewed at Initial Release) That said, the skimming feature on the Sora 70 is fantastic and captures most of the floating debris, which the older Beatbot couldn't do. 🌊 For waterline scrubbing, the Aquasense 2 used to double-scrub spots, making it a bit more thorough. However, the Sora 70 uses its jets to blast dirt off the tiles so it can be sucked right into the built in skimmer, which is fantastic. 💦 Plus, the Sora 70 moves and filters water so well that I actually turn off my main variable speed pump while it runs, so I'm definitely saving on power! ⚡ Overall, I absolutely love the new skimming feature. It lives up to the hype and provides a much more complete cleaning cycle from top to bottom. If you value your time, want to spend less time on pool maintenance, and are able to splurge on some pool tech, the Beatbot Sora 70 is the best overall cleaning device you can buy right now. Dive right in and spend more time actually enjoying your pool instead of cleaning your pool! 🏊♂️🏖️ ... show more

  • Excited for the Sora 70’s Surface Skimming and Shallow-Area Cleaning Excited for the Sora 70’s Surface Skimming and Shallow-Area Cleaning
I am excited to get the new Sora 70 from Beatbot. I have owned a Beatbot AquaSense Pro for the last two years, and I have been extremely happy with the move from older corded pool robots to wireless battery-operated models. That change alone has made pool cleaning much easier and more convenient. One of the things I really like about Beatbot is that the robots do not stay the same as the day they come out of the box. In that way, they are a lot like high-tech EVs that continue to evolve with new features as they become available. Through periodic firmware and app updates, the robots improve over time, which adds value after purchase. I fully expect Beatbot to do the same with the Sora 70. It also took less than 2 minutes to fully add the Sora 70 to the Beatbot app. Since I already had my existing robot fully configured in the app, it was simply a matter of adding the additional robot, and the process was quick and easy. What makes the Sora 70 especially appealing is that it specializes in skimming the water surface and cleaning shallow areas elevated by steps or platforms. That gives it capabilities my existing Beatbot does not have. I also really like the innovative water-purge feature that floats the robot to the pool surface and brings it to the side for easy retrieval. It is especially nice that it drains water out of the robot before removal, making it much lighter and easier to lift. Another thoughtful design feature is the roller wheels along the side, which should help it move more smoothly while rolling along pool edges. That seems like a smart addition for improving movement and handling around the perimeter. The Sora 70 also comes with an easy-clean filter basket, and it has the ability to use a finer basket as an optional accessory, although that finer basket does not appear to be available yet. I also like that it comes in blue and purple, which gives it a nice visual touch. The app also offers several configurable features, and those settings will likely affect battery life and how many cleaning cycles can be completed per charge. That kind of flexibility is a nice advantage, especially for people who want to tailor performance to their particular pool needs. By simplifying the number of AI components, motors, and sensors compared with the high-end line, the Sora 70 seems like a more cost-effective robot while still offering some very useful advanced features. I am really looking forward to seeing this robot in action and trying out all of its capabilities. ... show more

  • Cleans Better Than I Can Cleans Better Than I Can
This is my second BeatBot that I acquired because it has the surface skimming function that my first robot didn’t have. After using this for a month now, I have enough experience with it to give an unbiased review. While I’m happy with it overall, the skimmer function is a bit of a disappointment. It’s very slow to move around the surface of the pool and it doesn’t really suck the debris into the basket so much as it just randomly travels around the surface of the pool and the leaves and debris just float into the robot. It’s much quicker and easier to just skim the debris off the surface of the pool with a net. The other functions of the robot work very well. It can clean the floors, the walls, the waterline. It will not clean a platform that’s less than eight inches deep. Our ledge is 6 inches deep, and the robot will not climb up on the ledge and clean it. If your pool doesn’t have a ledge that’s at least 8 inches deep, I don’t recommend this particular model of BeatBot unless the larger filter basket is needed. You can save some money and go with another BeatBot model that doesn’t have the skimmer function. BeatBot makes great pool robots. They’re all a good value for the money and do a really good job keeping your pool clean. ... show more

  • Another good Beatbot pool robot Another good Beatbot pool robot
Pool management stinks. It’s a constant battle, and honestly, getting a PhD in water chemistry might be easier than keeping everything perfectly balanced. I’m always looking for anything that makes my life easier, especially when it comes to pool bots. The technology keeps improving, so I’m always checking out what’s new to see if it offers something my current one doesn’t. I already own the Beatbot AquaSense 2, but the Sora 70 has a few upgrades that made it worth trying. The longer runtime alone is a big deal for me because I like putting my bots on a schedule so they can clean while I’m at work or overnight. The Sora also adds a water‑skimming feature that my entry‑level AquaSense 2 doesn’t have, plus more motors, more suction power, and a bigger basket. There are a few things I miss from the AquaSense 2. I can charge that one while it’s still wet, but the Sora has to be completely dry. They also use different chargers — the AquaSense 2 has a wireless dock, while the Sora uses a plug‑in port on the back. And the AquaSense 2 has pool mapping, which the Sora 70 does not (at least according to Beatbot’s website). Beatbot basically says: if you want smarter navigation and faster charging, go AquaSense 2; if you want more complete coverage and stronger cleaning, go Sora. Honestly, I’m keeping both. I’ll probably swap them out and always have one running on a schedule. I also have a Beatbot pool skimmer already, so I don’t really need the Sora’s skimming feature, but it’s nice that it’s there. In my video, it didn’t look like it picked up much, but it actually did. The box says it’s not meant for beginning‑of‑season deep cleaning, so I probably shouldn’t have put it through the ringer — but I wanted to see what it could do. With all that suction and the large basket, I figured it could handle it. I forgot to take an after shot, but you could definitely see a difference. There was still plenty left behind, even after three hours, but again, that’s not what it’s designed for. For routine maintenance (as advertised), it does a great job. I’m not sure why the basket is so large if it’s not meant for heavy cleanup, but either way, it’s going to be a solid tool to keep my above‑ground pool clean this year. Overall, the Sora 70 is powerful, easy to use, and a great upgrade for day‑to‑day cleaning. ... show more

  • Extremely Capable Pool Robot That Cleans Every Surface Well
I have been using the Beatbot Sora 70 in my indoor pool and it has been one of the most impressive pool cleaning robots I have owned. From the first cycle it was clear that this unit is designed to handle full pool cleaning rather than just picking up debris from the bottom. It moves confidently around the pool and covers every major surface with very little effort required from the owner. One of the biggest advantages is how many areas it can clean. The Sora 70 handles the pool floor, climbs the walls, scrubs along the waterline, and also collects debris from the surface. Many robotic cleaners only focus on the bottom of the pool, so having one unit that addresses all of these areas makes a noticeable difference in overall cleanliness. In my indoor pool there is less large debris than an outdoor pool, but fine particles, dust, and small debris still accumulate over time. The Sora 70 does an excellent job picking up these particles and keeping the water looking very clear. After each cleaning cycle the pool floor and walls look noticeably cleaner. The suction power is strong and the large 6 liter filter basket holds a lot of debris. Even after several cleaning sessions there is still plenty of room in the filter. Removing and rinsing the basket is simple and takes only a few minutes before placing it back into the unit. Navigation has also been impressive. The robot does not move randomly. Instead it travels in a pattern that gradually covers the entire pool. Watching it climb the walls and move along the waterline shows how well the system is designed to maintain traction and stability. Wall climbing performance is especially good. Some pool robots attempt to climb walls but slip or lose grip halfway up. The Sora 70 climbs smoothly and continues working along the waterline where buildup often forms. This area normally requires manual cleaning, but this robot handles it automatically. The smart surface parking feature is another helpful addition. When the cleaning cycle ends, the robot moves to an accessible area near the surface so it can be removed easily. This saves time and avoids the need to reach deep into the pool. Despite its strong cleaning ability, the robot is not excessively heavy. The weight actually feels well balanced, which helps it stay stable during operation in the water. When lifting it out of the pool, it feels manageable and not overly difficult to handle. The design makes retrieval easier than some larger robotic cleaners. Battery life has also been very good. The robot runs long enough to complete full cleaning cycles without struggling or stopping early. Even after covering the floor, walls, and waterline, it still has enough power to finish the job consistently. Charging time is reasonable, and once fully charged it is ready for another complete cleaning session. Build quality feels solid and durable. The materials appear well suited for long term exposure to water and pool chemicals. The robot also operates fairly quietly, which is especially nice in an indoor pool environment where loud equipment can echo. Setup and operation are very simple. Once placed in the pool, the robot handles the entire cleaning process automatically. There is very little learning curve and maintenance is minimal. Cleaning the filter and storing the unit after use is straightforward. For pools up to around 3,200 square feet, the Sora 70 feels very capable. It covers large areas efficiently and transitions between surfaces without difficulty. After multiple cleaning cycles the performance has remained consistent and reliable. In terms of value, this robot offers a lot. Having one system that can clean the floor, walls, waterline, and surface significantly reduces manual cleaning time and keeps the pool consistently looking great. Overall, the Beatbot Sora 70 has performed extremely well in my indoor pool. It cleans thoroughly, navigates intelligently, and remains easy to use. The balanced weight, strong suction, long battery life, and multi surface cleaning make it a very effective pool maintenance tool. ... show more

  • The convenience and time savings make it absolutely worth it
I’ve owned a few robotic pool cleaners over the years, but the Beatbot Sora 70 Pool Vacuum Robot is easily the most advanced and “set-it-and-forget-it” unit I’ve used so far. First off, the 360° top-to-bottom cleaning is not just marketing hype—it really does tackle everything in one cycle. I’ve got a decent-sized in-ground pool, and this thing climbs walls, scrubs the waterline, vacuums the floor, and even skims debris off the surface. It’s basically replaced my manual skimmer entirely, which I didn’t expect. The suction power is impressive. At 6800 GPH, it has no problem picking up leaves, dirt, and even fine debris. I noticed a big difference compared to my previous robot—especially with sand and smaller particles that usually get left behind. The large 6L debris basket is also a huge plus. I can run multiple clean cycles before needing to empty it, and it’s super easy to rinse out. One feature I didn’t realize I’d love so much is the smart surface parking. When it finishes cleaning, it floats up to the edge of the pool so I don’t have to fish it out from the bottom. Sounds like a small thing, but it makes a big difference in day-to-day use. Design-wise, the Midnight Blue finish looks sleek and premium, and the build quality feels solid. It moves a bit slower than I expected, but honestly, I’d rather it be thorough than fast—and it definitely gets the job done. Some reviews mention it’s not the absolute best at deep floor cleaning compared to higher-end models, and I can see that slightly in the corners—but for an all-in-one cleaner, it’s a great trade-off. What really sold me is the versatility. It handles surface, walls, waterline, and floor cleaning in a single unit, which means I don’t need multiple devices or extra effort. That alone makes it worth it for me. Pros: - True all-in-one cleaning (surface to floor) - Strong suction and large debris capacity - Smart surface parking is incredibly convenient - Easy to clean and maintain - Works well for larger pools Cons: - Moves a bit slow during cycles - Not perfect in tight corners or deep floor debris - Still a premium price point Final Verdict: If you’re tired of constantly maintaining your pool and want something that genuinely automates the entire process, this is a fantastic investment. It’s not the cheapest option out there, but the convenience and time savings make it absolutely worth it in my experience. ... show more

  • Easy to use and works great!
I have a 18x36 in-ground pool with the deep end being 10ft and the shallow side being 3ft. My old vacuum that I have for 10+ years needed replacing to I gave this one a try. I was pleasantly surprised how well this one worked compared to my old one, especially since this one was cordless. Battery life is about 4.5 hours, I am not sure if that will degrade over time but for now that is a good amount of time to get the pool cleaned. The media basket hold 6 liters of debris; for a typical cleaning that will cover my entire cleaning cycle without having to do a mid-cycle emptying. I do have a lot of big tress around my yard and pool, which is great for privacy but tends to add leaves and debris into the pool. When that occurs I do have to empty the basket mid-cleaning. It does a nice job cleaning around the pool to the waterline. I have 3 wide steps on the shallow end of my pool; it is able to clean the bottom two steps but struggles sometimes with the top one (I had the same issue with my old one). Overall this robot is easy to use, with the exception of the times I have to empty the basket its basically set it and forget it. When its done cleaning or when the battery is running low it automatically parks itself on the pool edge making it easy to retrieve/remove. Very happy with it. ... show more
