Great clock for anyone. You can set reminders for meals, meds, hygiene as well as other reminders. Originally purchased one several years ago for my dad who had dementia. My mom still loves the clock so much (even though he is gone) we got one for the living room. Has different styles and brightness levels. Very easy to set up. Perfect size allows you to see numbers clearly from across the room. Great value fast shipping.

We really like this clock! Its display image and options are really nice! You can label the alarms, you can put a message on it; the little day/night and medicine-taking person icons and vivid colorful and clear display are great; it has a sleep mode, etc... AND the alarms is actually a pleasant, calming and cute melody that my father responds to merrily. The remote is easy and the button on the back pretty easy to. And it was about $30 cheaper or half the price than another one we tried. We ordered a second one for another room. And yes, it does the job very well at this point, it's so helpful, to orient my dad to full date and time, when he can't remember! And he says so too! FYI, The other clock we purchased was by Robin. It was twice the price of the MASSII clock and the screen display image had a very ugly glare, like a very old computer, very few meaningful display option; you cannot label alarm settings; the alarm sound itself is horrible, like a very-very old mechanical telephone or a bad recording of a "big-ben" alarm clock. So, we decided very quickly even before ever testing the other functions, such as the clock speaking/voiced mode, that the alarm and visual features were just too terrible for it to be worth it, especially considering that we do not need the "speaking" function at this point and if we did we still questioned whether it could even possibly make up for the really disturbing, obtrusive alarm. Lastly, the buttons to set the clock are also pretty annoying, while other cheaper brand digital clocks have easier buttons plus a very easy remote control. Good luck with your purchase choices.

This really helped my mom out when she was so mentally ravaged from chemo treatment that she couldn't tell night from day. Even now that we got her off the destructive chemo she still finds it useful. Good item, wish screen was slightly bigger.

We bought this clock for a very senior (100+ year old) parent who was starting to have some time-of-day disorientation. Regular clocks didn't work, because he would see 5:00 and not know whether it was 5:00 in the morning or 5:00 at night. This clock reinforces the time with both text (e.g., "MORNING") and graphics (a picture of the sun). It spells everything out rather than using abbreviations that can be confusing for someone with mild dementia. The display is big and bright. We especially like the red-white-and-blue setting, because it's an attention grabber and makes it easy to locate the clock, which has helped reduce calls at 2:00 am. Programming is very simple with the included remote (BTW, another review complained that the instructions say to press the "Menu" button and there's no such button on the clock -- that's true, the menu button is on the remote, not the clock back). The clock keeps accurate time, and the battery keeps the time accurate during power outages, which is essential. The one feature I would change: If you set a reminder, it pops up on screen at the appropriate time, along with a message saying to use the remote to return to clock mode. It automatically returns to clock mode after a customizable interval, but the message sends our senior relative into a search for the remote. I wish the message said something like "The clock will reappear in 10 minutes". Bottom line: This clock has helped our senior relative maintain better day-night orientation, which has reduced calls to us in the wee hours of the morning. Worth every penny.

We totally love this clock, even more than we thought we would. We're retired, so we sometimes have trouble remembering what day of the week it is, or what the date is, and this clock quickly tells us that, along with the time (of course!) and what part of the day it is (morning, noon, afternoon, evening, night, midnight, before dawn), which is really nice. Even retired people need to know what day it is in order to keep up with when garbage pick-up day is, when it's the day for classes and other weekly activities or events, etc. We like how the clock gives you the option of four colors of numbers and letters displayed (red, yellow, green, and white), even though we usually just leave ours on red all the time. And, we also like how the display brightness dims in the evening and night in order to make for a more relaxing atmosphere, and to make it easier to sleep (no bright light in the room from the display.) You can either put this clock on a bedside table-top, dresser-top, etc. (it has a removable stand for this type of use), or you can hang it on a wall (it has a hanging nook on the back to make this easy.) The clock also has MANY alarms on it that you can set for virtually anything you need to set it for, and you can also customize up to four of the alarms with your own images (.jpeg files) or video clips (.mp4 files), and audio files (.mp3 files) that play at the time that you set the alarms for (you can upload these custom alarm files from a computer or other, similar device, and then transfer the files to the clock via either a USB stick or SD card, since this clock has slots for both of these.) We haven't used any of the alarms yet (we got it mostly for the time, day, and date display functions), but we can see how the alarms might come in handy in the future for us. It is very easy to set this clock, even without using the instruction manual, but the instruction manual is also very good, clear, and easy to read and understand, with good illustrations. And, you can also use the included remote control to change the clock's settings. This would come in very handy for people who decide to hang this clock up high on a wall. The clock has a nice selection of four different display formats (see pictures for examples), but we like to just leave our clock on the first (default) setting. I looked at them all and shopped thoroughly for clocks like this, and this clock is clearly the best of its kind, and we highly recommend it. We love it!

I purchased this clock for my mom who has dementia. It is important to her to know the day, date and time. We looked at several versions and settled on this one. It was easy to set up and has a lot more features than we will use. (Pull reminders, appointment reminders, ect.) There are several backgrounds or ways to have the information displayed but we found the simple black background provided what we need without complicating the information for mom. She keeps it on her bedside table so that she can easily see it in the morning. It gives her security and some feeling of independence to have information available when she cannot remember. She loves this clock and has mentioned several times that she is grateful for it and refers to it several times a day. I feel that it is a great tool to give to your family members who forget the simple things about the day, time, and week. I highly recommend and appreciate the peace that it gives my mom to know that she can use it to situate herself in time and space.
