    • Easy to read and navigate throughout each section
I ordered this OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner to perform a self-check before taking my car to a mechanic. As a female, I have experienced the misfortune of being bamboozled with unnecessary repairs. Hopefully, this will give me a general idea of what I can expect to hear from the mechanic. If only it were that simple. I will admit, plugging the scanner into my car under the fuse box was simple. Just look for the identical port matching the plug on the end of the scanner. The engine must be running. I immediately checked the icon easiest to cross reference; such as the vehicle info, to check its accuracy. The results were conclusive. THe scanner was easy to navigate throughout each page in each section. My lack of knowledge surrounding the individual icons was the issue. Since my car did not show any codes of failure needing to be addressed, I cannot vouch for the ease of understanding any codes given; Does it just show the code(s) and I have to search for the meaning on Google, or will it provide the code along with the problem and solution? With my car being a 2007, I am uncertain of its accuracy. The length of the cord is a drawback, barely long enough to sit on my thigh. I am short, so I sit close to the dash as possible. It would be most beneficial if the cord were long enough to reach to the passenger, especially for the section that measures the engine performance. It would be impossible to monitor that data while driving. The screen is easy to read, navigating through each section with ease. In the top corner of each section reads the current page and the number pages in that section; 1/3(page 1 of 3) Using the down arrow will take you to page 2 of 3 (2/3). The up arrow takes you to the previous page and esc takes you back to the icons page, press esc again for the main menu. To acquire the full benefits of this diagnostic tool, I recommend having some background knowledge of codes and the mechanical function of the main components of a vehicle. This tool is great. It's very easy to use, and very easy to read. I used to go down to the auto parts store and have them use theirs but then felt pressured to buy car parts there. I can now figure out what's wrong with my car on my own and make some BEFORE I hit the auto parts store. I know what's wrong BEFORE I call a mechanic. As a woman, that's important to me because there are still so many places that treat women like they can't maintain their vehicles without help. ... show more
