I bought this as it was being phased out for the newer model and was debating between this and an iPad Pro, since I was replacing an outdated version of the Pro. Got this - it does everything we need it to do and also like the fact it uses the first generation Apple Pencil, which we already had, as well as the older charging port so we can use all of our old charging cords for this. Another perk of this older model is that it has the headphone jack - that is huge for us as we don't use wireless earbuds. Charges up faster than my old one - holds a charge very well. These things are more durable than one would expect, but we have been through 3 since kids were little and never a single scratch without ever using a screen protector! The iPad we replaced with this one was from 2016 and since they are supported for about 7 years we will get a good 4 years out of this one from when we purchased it. I got an incredible deal on Black Friday that made it impossible to pass up. Very glad I didn't get a newer model and then have to buy all the new blocks and cables...which also helps keep everyone else from steal my charging stuff since I use the newer USB-C cords! It's all about strategy!

I bought this to take notes with and this really made doing assignments so much more efficient. I really do like how I can use it as another screen with my laptop. I would say to buy this ipad if you want to try using an ipad for taking notes for college or for other reasons for the price. I've had this ipad for a semester and now I am looking at upgrading to either an ipad air or an ipad pro just for more storage and newer technology. I would say that this works best if you have a Mac as well. I also liked how I could buy an off brand apple pencil with this product and not have to pay more for the actual apple pencil.

I bought this a while back for my ex and she loves it. There is a new model, but if you can still get your hands on this one, it does a great job! Battery life is long and charging speed is great. Put it in a decent case and it will be durable for years. Make sure to put a strong screen protector on it though. Those screens are expensive to replace. Connectivity is easy as any iPhone. Great iPad.
