The roasted maple neck was chosen for its optimal tone and stability, and a sculpted heel design allows for improved access all the way to the 22nd fret. High-performance components round out the feature list and include a string-through-body hardtail bridge for ideal body resonance, and a set of sealed-gear tuning machines with split shafts for smooth tuning action and easy restringing. TL;DR: It's a good little machine. Definitely worth it, if you like the look, and can get it set up right. After fixing the terrible fret sprout, it quickly became my favorite strat. I have two Fenders (one USA and one MIM), and I don't touch them anymore. This is the toy I play with. Detail: I don't remember any problems with shipping or the seller or anything (it's been a while). I paid, it came, yay! It's a standard-sized 25.5" scale-length Strat, if that matters. Also, it's a string-through hardtail. It came with TERRIBLE fret sprout. Like ZERO-stars, hand-murdering, "yo dawg, I heard you like bleeding" fret sprout. (I suppose this is somewhat expected of a new inexpensive guitar coming from a warehouse across the country, so I only take one star off). HOWEVER, after I spent some time fixing that, this guitar quickly became my favorite. So, expect to do some fret maintenance / setup. I'm not a player by any stretch of the imagination, but the roasted maple neck must have been burnished or something, it feels INCREDIBLE. Almost glossy, but not sticky. So good. I have 6 other guitars and this is my Favorite Neck. Tuning stability is nothing special either way: it holds tune okay. I've never heard it go out while I was playing, only over days/weeks. I always have a tuner nearby, so that's not a problem. if I was worried about it, I'd upgrade the tuning machines. The pickup configuration and wiring is definitely not Strat-standard, but that's not a complaint. It's just different. ... show more
